How do you know if you see a ghost?

The idea of ghosts raises lots of human eyebrows.  People will often fervently believe in such things or, be convinced they do not exist.  Each person has a reason for their belief systems.  Not everyone is prepared to explore reasons for their beliefs.

Let's say not believing is grounded in fear and doubt about uncertainty.  Human beings will even deny what they supposedly perceive with their own senses.  This happens because those people are not ready to believe, or to open up to unexplained experiences.

If you believe in the supernatural, it is possible you have had some unexplained experience and this is how you understand it.  You may feel love and positive energy.  Your inner knowing may also help you connect to energy vibrations that other people do not choose to have.  What you believe, you consciously accept and embrace as truth.

I have a friend who shared a story about his visit to Bhutan.  This is a very spiritual country I look forward to visiting.  In any case, he rented a four wheel drive and took a guide with him into a remote area.  My friend got out of the vehicle to gaze at the breath-taking scenery and to meditate amidst nature.

Suddenly, as if from nowhere, an older woman appeared in native dress. She spoke in a dialect my friend's guide did not understand.  Now, the two men were many miles away from any village.  They were amidst steep mountains and rugged terrain.  Nonethless, the peaceful woman smiled continuously, bowed her head with a prayer gesture and seemed to walk by them.  When they turned, she was gone.  They sensed she was spirit energy.

Why are you where you are?

Human beings are consciously unaware why they are drawn to certain places. As it happens, different kinds of energy attract you on conscious and unconscious levels. The more you learn about where you are, the more you realize aspects of the unseen affect every one of your choices. You often discover that you are where you are for reasons other than those you initially thought.  Why do you believe you are where you are now?

For example, if you have ever engaged in business, then you realize you will not always know where your clients come from, why they come to you or, why you seem to find them as you do. You may get referrals based on reputation or, ‘word-of-mouth,’ but there is more to this than meets the eye.  Even if you are not in business, you are also guided.

I recently booked a client that was unexpected. This work had nothing to do with the paranormal. The work opportunity arose after I had gone to a particular area for an appointment with another prospective client that did not hire me after all. Something prompted me to canvass a few streets over nearby. Looking back, a client I had expected was what drew to the area I needed to find.

While on the job I did book, I learned the client’s building was a year old. When I conversed with a staff member, I instinctively spoke about local real estate. As images of a cemetery jumped into my mind, I was prompted to casually mention how buildings are increasingly built on old burial grounds. When I closed my eyes, I received useful clues.

Wouldn’t you know, this woman divulged that the building where we were is on the property of an old church. She explained the chapel was left intact behind. I had reason to be was intrigued. When I remarked people do not always feel comfortable with the idea of spiritual presence, she said she thought everyone had unexplained experiences, and just did not choose to discuss them. I sensed there was more. I learned there was indeed far more to that place and why I was there.  You are given details as you need them.

Have you ever been to a place with the conscious intention and understanding of what you thought you were doing only to discover you got there for completely different reasons? Sometimes you start to wonder if you are guided, and if you do, you are right.

It matters less what or who is guiding you than the fact you have raised your awareness and vibration high enough to recognize it. This teaches that you are aware and unaware at the same time. Your efforts aim to align your energy, to make sense of where you are.

At this point, you are ready for the next stage, that is, where you further attune to energy and what you do with it. What have been some of your own experiences? When was the last time you were thinking about doing one thing and it turned out, you were in the process of doing another? To recognize stages of your own evolution is a very meaningful revelation. This takes you to places that you have not yet imagined or experienced. Yet, it is in the pipeline. You are already on the way.

More people relate than you think

Did you ever notice that the part of you which fears sharing your true passions or talents is actually  being encouraged to do so by people you know or barely even know?

Recently, I had a book about ghosts and spirits with me when I visited a local post office.  I innocently set it on the counter while I was proceeding with a payment.  Now, I visit this place often and its my nature to chat.  Yet, I only discuss 'the esoteric' when prompted so as not to freak anyone out.   Everyone is at a personal level of awareness.  Experience shapes what you think.  You recognize things based on spiritual acceptance. 

On this particular day, three clerks suddenly started to discuss this topic with me.  They shared their beliefs and how they rarely spoke of spirit realms except in context of popular tv programs.  Having been more outspoken about life and death in the past, they were ridiculed and now hushed up. Yet, they resonated such excitement talking with me.

One clerk confided a personal story.  After her father passed over, she said that he spoke to her in her bathroom.  She shared with me that she had glmpsed his blurry form and truly believed he had chosen to say good bye to her 'from the Other Side.' 

When sharing this experience with her family, they did not believe her and thought her nutty.  She could not explain why she felt a strong pull to tell me.  I simply said what people believe or not does not have to influence her faith in herself.  I reassured her that I believed her.  Any effort to force growth on others shows you that is not your job.

Not long ago, a neighbour shared a story about her husband.  He had a few strokes and she wondered if he was not hallucinating.  She described how he saw light beings passing through his bedroom walls and he was also speaking to people she did not see.   What should she make of it?  I shared my view that there is nothing to fear and beliefs influence what we discern, where and when. She got what she needed from our chat that ensued.

I admit it used to surprise me when people I hardly knew would confide to me about similar things at bus stops, trains stations, airports and other transient places.  Something prompted them to share stories of presumed ghost encounters or related phenomena.  Your soul tells you that you desire to relate to others.  Intuition tells you when you do.

Each person knows when it is the right time to open up about a subject that seems to evoke fear.  You come to realize sources of discomfort are always outside of yourself.  As you get over that, transcend it, you realize you have nothing to fear.  No matter where your talents lie or, what you feel compelled to tell someone, that will be good for you.

Complete strangers have the power to remind us who we are.  People close to you offer clues as well.  How often do you underestimate how people relate to you?  They draw your attention to what you need to see.  This is not about belonging to a political party, seeking a label or, sense of community.  Ask yourself what is your aim.  It is to serve in the capacities you are able.  This requires your will and courage to put into practice.

Stop fooling yourself

People around you are forever telling you what they believe you can or cannot do.  And yet,  will you always choose to believe other people or, will you evolve to become more attuned to yourself? What if you were evolving to perceive paranormal as your 'normal?'

Take for example that you periodically get premonitions, but do not make much of them.  You may have travel plans on a particular vessel and cancel your plans last minute on an impulse.  When you learn the vessel later hit a hurricane and sunk, then you may think differently about the motivation behind your apparent impluse.  Is there more to that?

Think back to your school days.  Recall how you always sensed which student would raise their hand before they did?  Recall how you knew whether or not you did well on a test, whether you would be chosen to be on the sports team, whether you would feel comfortable or not with certain peers?  This shows you read energy.  You still do.  You know comfort and discomfort, and yet, part of you doubts.  You have to learn to trust.

Some dreams you recall may be explained by tools you have at your disposal in the physical world.  Other dreams may seem whimsical or purely imaginary.  These dreams can also be fragments of your experiences in other let's say, 'spiritual' dimensions.  In the spirit world, you are free of inhibitions that restrict your thinking on the Earth plane.

Part of you presumes you exist in a physical reality and everything else is superfluous.  Another part of you knows that reality is the invisible energy that surrounds you.  This knowing side of you realizes the law of attraction appoints your spirit guides. 

As you evolve to stop fooling yourself, you begin to realize that any spiritual activity you are willing to discern depends on you.  You create the mindset and conditions through which events can unfold and be recognized.  As you attune to your surroundings, you intuit the behaviour of matter based on inner connectedness.  What does this entail?

Intuition is how you become aware of spirit and spirit raises awareness of itself.  This goes beyond conditioned reasoning.  You discern, know and decide without question.  You do this more often than you realize.  You are attuning to what matters,  using extra-sensory perception.  This is an opportunity to deepen unwavering faith and expand awareness of your true faculties. You do it already.  Stop fooling yourself otherwise. 

Which messages are you reading?

If you believe something exists beyond this physical world, then you may also believe that something or someone is seeking to convey a message to you.  This is not necessarily a dream.  Which messages are you reading? What do you want to hear? from whom? Why?

Each being is limited in ways it communicates.  This is based on energy vibration and the state of a soul's evolution.  You know yourself, in the physical world, that it can seem easier to commuicate with some people than others, even if part of you knows what it wants to say.  Part of you holds back or, you may not find the right words to convey your message clearly so that the recipient understands. Your thought associations may not jive with the person you're speaking with.  On unseen levels, your energy is not aligned.

Spirit encounter a similar situation when they desire to share words and ideas with the mind of a human being.   Not every person is receptive to such messages.  Not everyone wants to hear.  If you do not choose to harmonize thoughts, then you will not receive.

Those who contemplate what is possible may not grasp what is necessary to evolve the soul.  Express love unconditionally and you protect yourself from undesirable entities.  Compassion only attracts compassion.  If you love someone and they love you back, then you are connected beyond the physical.  You can open doorways through the dense energy of the physical to spirit worlds beyond.  Spirit teach those who want contact.

Spirit work in different ways, but often connect through aligning with the energy of a person's aura.  Some people learn to raise energy vibration enough to connect with spirit that learn to slow their vibration down.  Where the will exists, your understanding grows.  Thus, you journey to open the eye of soul or, expand your degree of perception.

One remarkable thing is how spirit can work though a person to help someone else, to provide reassurance or some other message.  At the same time, spirit convey messages to the medium about his or her physical life.  Some are selectively hearing and listening.

It is no coincidence spirit approach certain mediums, for mediums are always learning themselves. Their lessons emerge as they attune to subtle nuances 'between the lines.'  You can withdraw and detach for extended periods in isolation to develop yourself or, learn what it means to live on the physical plane without being consumed or affected.
