Recall the Ant & the Chrysalis

An Ant nimbly running about in the sunshine in search of food came across a Chrysalis that was very near its time of change. The Chrysalis moved its tail, and thus attracted the attention of the Ant, who then saw for the first time that it was alive.

"Poor, pitiable animal!" cried the Ant disdainfully. "What a sad fate is yours! While I can run hither and thither, at my pleasure, and, if I wish, ascend the tallest tree, you lie imprisoned here in your shell, with power only to move a joint or two of your scaly tail."

The Chrysalis heard all this, but did not try to make any reply. A few days after, when the Ant passed that way again, nothing but the shell remained.  Wondering what had become of its contents, he felt himself suddenly shaded and fanned by the gorgeous wings of a beautiful Butterfly.

"Behold in me," said the Butterfly, "your much-pitied friend! Boast now of your powers to run and climb as long as you can get me to listen."

So saying, the Butterfly rose in the air, and, borne along and aloft on the summer breeze, was soon lost to the sight of the Ant forever. (Thanks to Aesop for the classic fable)

Like the Ugly Duckling!

We are all capable of being butterflies.

Liara,

A profound tale of life. We often look at others and pity them when they are in a much better position that we are. We reach our point of lift-off at different times and we have many of those points throughout our existence. Soul is always in flight.

Hi Liara .. that story I can understand! Isn't it beautiful - don't judge a book by its cover .. don't judge a person by your initial first thoughts .. a wonderful painted lady flies out, or copper blue escapes to fly with the winds ..

Lovely - thank you -

Excellent message here! It is indeed wise for us to understand that there are more depths to each of us than any of us can ever fathom. We think we know someone or something - but often we may be very suprised just how little what we knew of them is the truth.

For the truth we sense about another is never actual, it is at best a small representation of how we see reality.

Jannie, everyone is a butterfly but forgets that incredible lightness of being when physical experience distracts the mind from reality. Your vivid colors resonate pure love.

Alexys, as you imply, to move beyond comparison and judgment permits a soul to shift vantage point, raise energy vibration and completely transform experience.

Hilary, to move beyond judgment can seem like a baffling proposition. At the same time, as you recognize and dissolve judging habits, you feel an invisible burden is lifted.

Evita, reality is ever-changing based on your levels of awareness, self-love and self-acceptance. The truth is relative to multi-sensual perception and energy vibration.

The butterfly is so symbolic to me, I have one tattooed on my back! LOL Having never read this story before, Liara, your post adds to the wonderfully powerful energy of transformation that is the butterfly....and encourages me to keep wiggling until my own wings break free. Thank you!

Grace, the butterfly is a timeless symbol. The core self identifies with particular insignias. They are clues to who you are and what you are becoming. Your activity pattern is shifting wth every realisation there is more to physical existence than what you sense right now. Break free!

:) I will, Liara! If only the journey came with a User's Manual! LOL

Grace, if you have a comprehensive map or recipe, then physical life experience would not permit you to learn the lessons you are born to learn. The process is what enables you to awaken to patterns, thoughts and feelings within yourself with all the implications. To be in position to foresee everything in your life would undermine the human learning process. Although the soul part of you has universal insight, you have selective access to inner knowing because not knowing certain things enables you to figure out certain things for the self. Revelations unfold with perfect timing. Your deep soul what its doing.
