Learn to remember

Success is a concept that is linked with what is happening to each of us, through us and for us.  You might not have thought about it before in this way. Instead, you may have been conditioned to think success is a thing you must reach out and create through your own efforts. Why have you created an expectation that success is something you 'get' rather than experience? This mindset may tempt you to disregard other meaningful possibilities. I would invite you to think again.

Whether or not you initially realize or understand it, all choices you make are for your benefit. At times, you may convince yourself that you're challenged or suffering yet, what is that meant to tell you about your fears? The issue of whether you learn from your choices and the perceived results determines if you recognize you are the cause of your own sense of success or sense of something else. What if you came to believe nothing happened against your will, and your perception evolves to interpret success as that which you would accept once you're willing and feel ready to face it?

Since you may focus on success in varied forms in your present and future, consider how the life you lead can be seen as a tool or vehicle that enables you to experience how things happen. Imagine that no event unfolds, that no person you meet enters your life unless you invite them in with your hopes and desires. It's been said pleasure isn't truly understood without experiencing what pleasure is not. In the same way, it's been said that success isn't truly understood before a person experiences the opposite. This is how our points of reference emerge.

Before you grasp how you experience success in the 'here and now,' you may need to learn why you disbelieve this. What might cause you to create a mindse that dwells on failure or the idea that success, in desirable forms, seems forever out of your reach? Deal with your negative thoughts first and then, seek to understand the life experiences that may have caused you pain.  The nature of your awareness determines whether you feel a need to be healed. Success takes forms of self-realization, acknowledgement of errors, forgiveness of yourself and others, learning and embracing thoughts that enable you to move forward.

Look instead at success as the truth within translated by your thoughts and feelings. As you evolve to view success as evoking what you already know inside, you'll come to realize its up to you to learn to step back from what people and society define as success. What you see and hear can lead you to clarify your ideas. You can choose to perceive and learn from the world around you without always assuming forms of success you see are precisely what you seek. They can also act to represent the things which your sense of success is not. In fact, they may exist to help you realize you feel disconnected from your inner self and compel you to re-connect.

Uncharted territory

We all develop a sense of success to the point where we understand whether we experience that or not and what we did to get there. You may desire to repeat what you’ve done already to achieve those positive feelings again, and to avoid choices that had undesirable results. Then again, some of your less than ideal outcomes may cause you to take new approaches in the same direction and become even more determined in your future quests. Rejecting everything about your past wouldn't permit you to improve on what you now know or make new progress.

During different initiatives, I've experienced both a sense of success and a sense of failure. One of my most greatest lessons is that I have opportunities to gain insight from all experience and I realize what I initially understand as failure can also be seen as a blessing. Much depends on how I choose to see my circumstances and how much I desire to grow. I’ve come to realize why it’s useful not to take perceived failures too seriously or permit them to control my frame of mind. It’s wise not to permit ego to inflate about successes either. Remind yourself that nothing lasts forever and resting on your laurels doesn‘t get you very far. I enjoy a sense of success, and learn from that, too, and move on to apply my new knowledge to new and uncharted territory.

What's vital throughout our life experience is that we choose to keep improving from wherever we are and however we perceive our baseline. No matter where you are in your life, keep honing your skills. Keep striving to discover and develop your abilities. Don't let the low or slow times hold you down. Choose instead to seek meaning in everything, from your current conditions, hopes and fears to the difference between your expectations and the results of your efforts. How you perceive determines what you believe you can do.  Are you willing to examine and bring about change in your beliefs when you discover they hold you back?

Learn from your freedom of choice to change parts of yourself. You could alter your attitude toward and about the world around you.  How would this affect your understanding of success? Dare to develop the courage to reach new heights of self-awareness and a sense of self-worth. You’ll know when you’re ready to explore new paths and opportunities that you think could work.   At that point, you’ll trigger your own revelations and continue to weave your future.

Reach out & grab it or find your own way

To deepen your own understanding of success and to expand on what you think you already know about your own views on the subject, you would benefit from thinking about your answers to these questions; for whom, where, what, when, why and how? Learn who decides what success is in your life, under what conditions or constraints, when the concept is shaped and how, and what you think you must do to approach and experience it differently on your own terms.

Success for whom implies the object or the focus of your energies right now. This may be you or, it may or may not include you. As an employee, you contribute to the financial and other success of your employer. What about your own sense of success? Is it separate or the same? If you seek to serve others or, act in the interest of someone else, you may stifle some of your desires. If you set these aside for now, you may hope to return later. Do you postpone or forget? Consider your priorities.

Success is where takes shape in your actual physical surroundings or socio- cultural background. The perceived parameters are associated with guides and standards for expectations that suit the milieu. You don’t necessarily define anything about it. You may be a conformist or non-conformist. Each role would have implications. Is this environment where you are where you wish to be or, do you envision yourself elsewhere? Realizing where you don’t desire to be is the first step to deciding where you do. Choose exhilarating places to cogitate and innovate. Become yourself.

Success is what may represent a tangible thing you can reveal to the world as an indication of your progress and achievement. It may also be a simple feeling inside that nobody has to know about other than you.  How you perceive success can come from inside yourself or, it may be influenced by people and events that impose ideas on you. Which ideas do you believe or buy into? Do they help you discover yourself?

Success is when comes in your own time. Forms your most meaningful experiences will take are influenced by the time and effort you devote to bring them about. You may define a timeline as way to expedite certain kinds of success. However, people have also been known to stumble on unexpected success when original plans didn’t work out on schedule. Remind yourself that certain experiences have their own timelines, as regarding fertility, seasons, longevity and dexterity. Get informed. Your view of success may depend on cooperating with Mother Nature. Keep an open mind, identify what you want, and don’t forget to watch the clock.

Success is why is a reasoning that evolves inside yourself as you raise your own self-awareness. Your life meaning and priorities will change based on your grasp of who and what you are at a given time. Whether you justify action or inaction enables you to define the nature of your success.

Success is how will be realized throughout a given life journey. You can even sense it inside yourself. Once you think you know what you want, where you must go, and you have insight into time constraints, you may ask yourself how you’ll make things happen your way? Realize you’ll not be in control of everything that happens or everyone you meet. Yet, think of the atmosphere of your surroundings and how you feel about yourself. You set the mood of your life path. Will you choose to feel at ease and feel attitude and positive thinking lead you to people or circumstances which will realize your dreams? Raise self-awareness to attract opportunity.

Get right down to it

When you get right down to it, your sense of success will depend on things like your energy level, how you've lived life to this point, and whether you feel motivated to do new things. If your mental views of success are distorted away from what you really hope to do, you're likely familiar with and discouraged by distorted results.

As you review your understanding of morality (your perception of right and wrong), justice (how you view acceptable and unacceptable), and ownership (your view of desireable or undesireable), you will gain a deeper insight into your different ideas of success. People often forget they experience varying degrees of success in their lives because each of us has different ideas of what is possible at a given time. Do you use your own standard for success or are you influenced by other people? In this sense, success can be partly measured by how you become more aware of your beliefs and the process of expressing them or going after them.

success you can see and touch: this kind of success is measured in quantity, size, cost and status based on materialism and financial value. You can count and appraise what you have and also compare what you've got to what others have in order to evaluate how real and precious it is.

success you can feel inside: this kind of success is measured by qualitative emotions and gestures based on your connection to people, places, ideas and experiences. You depend on inuition, your sixth sense and reciprocity or reverberrations to tell you how real it is.

success you can detect in self-awareness: this kind of success is measured in how well you get-to-know youself. How content you are with your choices reveals how well you know your needs and desires are understood and met. How attuned you are to your feelings and what you accept or deny in yourself also reveals degrees of truth.

success you can map in progress: this kind of success is measured by physical and mental development. It often helps to explain your individual sense of personal growth, level of health and well-being.If you've been ill or injured, your rate of approaching full recovery is measured by things like dexterity, motor skills, appetite and renewed strength. Your baseline was the past. You could always surpass that.

success you can anticipate: this kind of success is measured by what you attract with your positive thinking, accompanying mindset and attitude. You use your hopes and dreams and how close you feel as a success gauge.

Rise above limitations

You may wonder why things just don't seem to go your way.  How can this help define success? You may underestimate the impact of your self-imposed limitations and how they reverberrate.  Each person tends to identify what he or she thinks is wrong with the world, and even judges people or the self. Whether or not this sounds familiar, you may forget or not realize how everything you think, say and do affects the nature of your life now and in the future.

Each time you add another limitation; mention something you can't do, indicate a reason why your dream won't happen, agree with experts who say your health is doomed, sigh that failure is predictable, justify why ideas are impossible, you may stifle creativity and define your life path. Although a negative comment may appear insignificant on its own, when added to the others, they may become 'the straw that broke the camel’s back.'  Suddenly, activities you could always do become difficult or your view of suffering skyrockets to beyond imaginable.  How can we discover the sources of our hidden limitations and eliminate them?

1) Learn to recognize how you limit yourself.  If you choose to focus only on your strengths and deny your weaknesses, this may hinder more than help you. Learn instead about your own reasons for your sense of weakness.  How do your beliefs hold you back?  As you realize why you benefit from all your skills and qualities, this will assist you to rise above your self-imposed limitations.

2) Ask people for input. What you perceive as your 'trouble spots' may differ from what other people think. By asking for feedback, you may open your eyes to new personal qualities you didn't recognize. Consider people who have told you what they think you can or can't do.  Other people's views of your character may not always be accurate.  It's up to you to find the courage to inquire, to learn to discern the difference and come to accept your own view of the truth.

3) Evaluate possible action. Once you have an idea of the kinds of things that hold you back, the next thing is to devise what you'll do to swing things in your favor.  Defining a challenge enables you to pay more attention to detail. Whether its the state of your health and well-being and a desire to improve a quality of life, your view of behavior in relationships or the workplace and the aim to rethink interactions, or discontent in another area of your life, its to your advantage to review possible approaches that will help you move forward on your terms.

4) Commit yourself to take action. Regardless of your circumstances, you have the choice to alter your beliefs and take new kinds of action to refine and expand on your view of success. Deciding you wish to understand yourself better is paramount.  This isn't only a desire to isolate and clarify your goals, but also a desire to learn why you fear or hesitate to reach them. Why you hold yourself back and how may ultimately surprise you. Knowing is the first step to overcoming such obstacles.
