Savor things as they are

Regardless of your conditions, as you reconnect with your core self, you realize you are happy as you are. You always have the choice to view things with a liberated attitude. Savor things as they are. You are always gaining something valuable. If you do not yet sense love and acceptance, you still can with faith. Consider revising your perception of life and death right now.

The following classic Zen story offers related food for thought;

Before Ch'an Master Pao-fu passed away he told his disciples, "I have been feeling weak lately. I suspect that it is almost time for me to go."

Upon hearing this, some of his disciples said, "Master, you still look very healthy."

Others implored, "Master, we still need your guidance," while some urged, "Master, please stay for the sake of all beings."

One disciple asked, "Master, when it is time for you to go, will you go or will you stay?"

Master Pao-fu asked, "which do you think would be better?"

The disciple answered without hesitation, "Whether it is life or death, let it be!"

The Master started laughing, "When did you steal the words that I was going to use?"

Upon saying this, Pao-fu passed away.

Hi Liara ~ We've been talking about this and the wonderful thing I have discovered is that I'm happy. I realised that there was a change some months ago, when my sponteneous answer to enquires as to my health and state of being (condensed as "how are you mate?" ... instead of my customary "Not bad I expect" ...my reply had become, with no conscious decision on my part...."I'm happy!" ... I expect my younger friends are suspecting creeping senility....if so, it's nice. :) :) :)

henry, senility does not exist. Only love exists. Such revelations empower you to shift awareness and move to a mental place of unconditional self-love. You notice how the choice to accept yourself and positive meaning in everything changes your state of mind and outlook on life. As you reply "life is fantastic," and mean it, you realize you have tapped into a secret many people choose to miss. Each choice is a stage in a learning process.

Yes, we wish some people would never die. But they must. And they do.

And the Beatles said it well too... Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be. Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.

Jannie, the Beatles reference is a meaningful one. Learning to let go is as easy as a person chooses. When you truly love someone, you realize it is selfish to wish them to stay with you when their time comes to move out of your life and pass on. Every human being is a creator, in the process of learning to surrender to a higher power. To surrender to what is is to accept loving others also means learning to let go and set a soul free.
