Steve Nash & Interview on collective Self-Help

Steve Nash raises awareness step-by-step on his soul journey.  Life experience prompts him to adopt and recommend the motto; "find the guru within."

His web-based information sources inspire, empower and awaken readers. You may hear of him through a variety of endeavours. I connect with him through his selfhelpcollective inititatives and am thrilled he chooses to share some down-to-earth insights here:

Why create selfhelpcollective.com?

The truth is, I never intended to build a self-help website in Feb 2008, it just happened.

Come on, Steve, nothing just happens. What was the 'ah-ha' moment? What prompted you to go from thought to conscious creation?

I decided I was really interested, no, passionate, in self-help. I also worked out a 'spin' for my website that I thought was unique: and that spin was guru-free self-help.

So, you do not view yourself as a 'self-help guru?'

I happen to be a firm believer in the 'you are your own best guru' philosphy.  I am not a fan of 'guru knows best' which many self-help websites seem to subscribe to. I prefer the idea that the 'collective' knows best.

Who or what inspired it?

It was inspired by Site Build It!, my passion for self help, and my belief that the 'guru free' message was not being spread sufficiently. I found a site-building suite of software and 'instructions' that gets you to build a website based on your passion.  This makes for a more enjoyable web experience for visitors and webmaster!

How do such initiatives affect individual and group energy vibration?

Hmm, I'm not too sure about group energy as yet.  The 'collective' part of my website has still to be properly developed, but I have had some VERY positive responses from site visitors from all over the world. The site is starting to make a difference. This pleases me.

For example, Tracey in USA said:

"Your Web site is wonderful and I found it at a perfect time in my life. It is helping me through a transitional period like millions of being unemployed and the stress that comes with it. It has helped me along with friends, and family to balance the tension, & stress that comes with being out of work and stay positive. Instead of sleepless nights viewing news websites when I need some peace and tranquility, to calm down, I visit your site and will each day. Thank you very much!"

And Sharon from Ireland said:

"I have had low self esteem since a very young age and i have just found your site and i am going to try the tips and suggestions to improving my self esteem. You have done a wonderful thing by creating this site so that people can get advice and tips without having to admit to anyone else that they have been suffering due to their self esteem issues. Thankyou"

As you can imagine, it's great getting such positive feedback!

What do you hope visitors take away from experiencing this website?

Ultimately, I would like people to help themselves - via a self-help article or tip they read, or a comment or story.

I would like visitors to understand they know more than they realise and can help someone else in return. They can either leave a comment or personal story or other contribution to Self Help Collective, or they can reach out to people that they know and help those people instead.

I would love it if Self Help Collective could be responsible for such a virtous circle as this 'Help and be helped.'

How does the process of building and expanding the resource transform you?

This is a great question. I've created upwards of 20 of my own websites and Self Help Collective is the *only* website where I've personally experienced 'transformation'.

Initially, it happened when I was looking to find people who knew stuff on various subjects. Whomever I approached - and I would never have dreamt of approaching anyone, before this website - responded positively towards my idea.  Many contributed useful content for my site.

It made me think, pretty much for the first time that if you think you can, you can. (Sorry if it sounds corny, but experiencing this 'truth' about life is anything but corny, it's revelationary!)

Later on, I've been bouyed by the great feedback that you've already read. And much of the feedback has completely echoed my original intention for the website. I just got this feeback a few days ago (June 2009):

"According to Guru Pitka (how I love Mike Myers), Guru stands for: 'Gee, You Are You!' So, we each are our own guru... trying to recognize that myself! Thanks for creating a supportive, helpful, and fun collective- will be sure to return for more inspiration. Peace!"

And the site has started collecting real-life stories from site visitors. These often inspire, and make me realise that we really are all one - sharing the same hopes and fears, and the same trials and tribulations. This is embodied in the story of the alcoholic-in-denial who has finally started to face up to the truth (and the pain) of her life in 'Willing to be willing'
-
http://www.selfhelpcollective.com/willing-to-be-willing.html

The site offers insight into happiness, confidence, affirmation, self-improvement and more. What next?

There is a long way to go before this site achieves its full promise. I really do want it to be a source of 'help and be helped' and I also want to earn an income from the site, too. So lots of hard work still to do, and hopefully a lot more transformational moments.

Where do you sense shifts in your own awareness?

I'm definitely more aware of my moods, and I recognise much more that how I feel (in a certain situations) might not be the only way that I can feel. I also seem to notice the present moment a bit more often than I used to (and then I think about my otherwise 'not noticing' most of the time...)

Sounds like the participant and observer are awakening inside your mind. This invites reflection. When is the most appropriate moment to self-reflect?

Hah! Probably after a moment of high-conflict or when I find myself in an 'impossible to solve situation' (which is often).

Many people are encouraged to rediscover difficulties are a blessing in disguise. Would you say visitors evolve with the site?

I hope so, but it's too soon to say right now. It's difficult to track repeat visitors, and their attitudes to my site, other than via my newsletter (called The Weekly Wonder). And even then, people are usually commenting on the inspirational quotes inside the newsletter rather than on the website itself.

This is also another way that the Self Help Collective website needs to develop. (Thanks for reminding me, Liara! ;-) )

What does the process of change teach you?

Gosh, tricky. Well apart from the obvious notion of change being a constant, I think the most recent changes I've experienced continue to make me realise how little I know about my true self, and the world about me. Each new insight - I'm presuming this is 'change' - always amuses and reminds me of how foolish I can be.

For me, change is summed up by: "you can't teach life anything."

Share a personal crossroads or life turning point.

There is a situation that comes to mind. One of my being emotionally 'stuck', of seemingly being unable to begin a significant romantic relationship (after the end of two relationships, one after the other). Until, that is, I got 'involved' with someone over the period of a year and they suddenly (to me and my perspective, anyway) became unavailable - they started to see somebody else.

I experienced a very real shift in me, emotionally - and the catalyst of this change was this woman's sudden availability.

Suddenly, I was able to commit! And I did so, almost immediately, with somebody else (it didn't last, but not because of my lack of commitment).

However, I find it difficult to talk about this healing time, this turning point, as I still find myself mired in a particular romantic relationship. So the healing feels incomplete now.

Still, I now know transformational change is possible.

How do you understand love and fear?

I've just started reading Gerald Jampolsky's, Love is Letting Go of Fear (a book I find amazing, by the way). And this book believes that love is the opposite of fear. And I am happy to go with that understanding too.

I am a big fan of love. (all forms of love - for friends, colleagues, parents, children, your spouse or partner - are all part of Love.) So I am a big fan of letting go of fear. Not easy, though, but necessary.

I resonate with Jampolsky's views on love and fear.  Reading other views helps awakens your own soul. What would you like readers here to take away?

I'm just a fair-to-middling student of life who makes his fair share of mistakes and has successes too. But I remain committed to learning about life, love AND fear, and I hope to do that via the ever-developing Self Help Collective website that came into being in February 2008.

Actually, answering these questions has made me recognise just how important the Self Help Collective website, and its aims and ambitions, is to me. Thanks for giving me this opportunity, Liara, to 'have my say'.

(By the way, if anyone is interested in how, exactly, I came to conceive and create SelfHelpCollective.com I just so happend to keep a site-building journal (or diary). You can read it here - http://www.site-buildit.com/sbi-diary.html .)

Thanks Steve.  You remind visitors that regardless of their current stage of conscious awareness or life situation and focus, resources exist to help them find bright sides and valuable lessons wherever they are. I encourage you to explore www.selfhelpcollective.com and contribute some of yoru own stories. Helping others is a way to simultaneously grow and learn too.

April & Allen Crawford Interview

April Crawford is a deep trance channel for particular frequencies of spirit energy.  If you are familiar with the Seth books, Jane Roberts, Abraham-Hicks (Teachings of Abraham) then this is a familar territory.

Allen Crawford has facilitated this communication between April and energies that answer to 'Veronica' for 15 years.  I initially grew aware of April's work through peer trance channels, automatic writing and also as guided by mysterious synchronicity.  I am grateful Allen acted to mediate this thought-provoking interview.

Thanks Allen for your willingness to participate here. We appreciate April and all the insights she offers this material world as well.

Please describe the circumstances that led up to April's awareness of and channelling of energies, including 'Veronica.'

As described in the intro to "Parting Notes", April just seemed to pass out one day. When she "awoke", it was not English she was speaking, but fluent French.... and it was not April that was speaking, it was a teenage girl, that once she learned to speak English (still with a French accent, told us that her name was Lizette. Those individuals present discovered that April is a natural Open Deep Trance Channel. After the first few following weeks, with us talking to many different entities and non-physical beings in addition to Lizette, VERONICA came through. We gave VERONICA that name because in the beginning "she" refused to give us a name, saying in essence that "Labels were limiting and unnecessary". The name however stuck, and now VERONICA is recognized using that name by various non-physical beings throughout the cosmos.

What prompted you to attune to higher consciousness as you do now? Was there a particular trigger to your awakening?

April had no interest in metaphysics or channeling before the event mentioned above. However, those in attendance were very interested in channelling and that probably acted as a trigger to reveal April's natural ability as an Open Deep Trance Channel.

How does it feel to raise your energy vibration and receive an influx of energy from a spiritual entity?

April has stated she simply calms her mind, then "falls backwards." In essence, her consciousness leaves her body to allow the non-physical being or entity to come through. In most cases, April has no memory of the session or even if anyone actually came through (although in my experience they do 100% of the time).

Why do you continue to align with the energy of Veronica (and not other energies, for example)?

That is a total misconception. April is a OPEN Deep Trance Channel. The "Open" part of that description means that April can and does allow not just Veronica, but many different types of non-physical beings to come through. Last night, for example, at a private in-person client's session, we talked to two different highly-evolved entities and also two different individual aspects (people who are in-between physical lives and from different historical time periods). Veronica is the most well-known channelled entities in part because of the Inner Whispers newsletter, videos and related media coverage.

When human beings channel higher entities, they do not always feel comfortable with what they receive. What prompts you to accept and relay ‘Veronica’?

April Crawford does not "relay" VERONICA. April is not a "relay channel", but rather a deep trance channel. VERONICA speaks directly for herself. April has no influence on the process other than allow VERONICA to come in. While we cannot speak to other people's experiences, we can say the "fear" may be an issue with them. In the case of VERONICA and others, April has no fear. Otherwise, why does anyone accept and trust anyone else? It is the same process with accepting an entity.

How does a non-linear perspective shape your conscious, human decisions when you are not aware of (or tuned out from) channelling Veronica?

Again, April's experience is not limited to VERONICA, although VERONICA is certainly a major part of it. Non-linear perspective, or multi-dimensional experience, is expanding and can alter priorities. How would you say that the ability to see color in a colorful world would alter the perspective compared to only being able to see in black and white? This is a perspective of inner sight.

What is it about the exercise of conscious, lucid dreaming that opens channels to communicate with non-physical entities?

They are all about the expansion and understanding of the nature of consciousness and the true nature of reality in general. Everyone has spirit guides. They are always trying and hoping to communicate with those physically-incarnated.  Humans tend to get caught up in their egos and dramas and in the process, cut themselves off from their true natures and abilities to a great extent.

Share some of your personal experience reuniting with a soul-mate in more than one lifetime.

Too long a discussion for this forum. Just know that everyone has more than one "soul-mate" and that individuals tend to travel together in various physical incarnations. Two non-physical beings we know as Sophia and William have written a book based upon their actual experiences on this subject. It is 900 + pages. We hope to publish it some day, but publishing a book of that size is a daunting task.

I begin to fathom the daunting task. A 1056-pg encyclopedia of spirit is a special reference book I use that required huge effort for authors to compile.

When there is a discontinuation of the physical form you inhabit, how do you decide when and where to return from where you go?

Based upon your experience, your level of awareness, and your personal individual preferences and choices.

What advice would you offer to an energy being who is in the process of detaching from conditioned beliefs or learning to channel?

Lose any expectations, quiet the internal chatter in your mind, be open, and lose the fear.

Anything else that you would like to add?

Check out the newsletter at www.InnerWhispers.net and www.AprilCrawford.com including the videos.

Thank you  Allen and April for offering insight into the open doorways into spirit realms. Your experiences confirm existence beyond the physical plane and encourage human beings to explore hidden facets of their own personalities. I encourage readers to read about April and her work.

Interview with Dyan Garris

Dyan Garris guides clients with her gifts of clairvoyance, clairaudience, and clairsentience. As a voice recognition psychic and trance channel, she helps people tune to and use power in the chakras, and be the best they can be.

After expanding my own insight into angel intuitive work through workshops with Heavenly Angels and Doreen Virtue, I learned about Dyan through her extensive writings and Blog Talk Radio. She kindly shares views on angel wisdom and energy.

Dyan, thanks for your willingness to share insight into yourself with our readers. When did you realize you connect with angels?

My earliest recollection of connecting with angels was at four years old. An angel came into my room and spoke with me. Although, they don’t really speak, rather, they just “communicate.” The angel told me that it was very important that I remember who I am. At that tender age there is no “doubt.” I didn’t have a definition of that word. My favorite book at the time was “The Littlest Angel.” I recognized the being that was communicating with me as an angel. I asked my sister if she could see or hear the pretty angel and she said no.

Did you ever doubt of this truth?

I knew what I was seeing and hearing, so I just didn’t have any doubt about it. I’m sure that helped lay the foundation for what was to come in my life. I just never had any doubt or fear of the truth. Therefore, I gave myself permission from a very young age to just be who I am. I learned to validate my own parking ticket, instead of having others validate it.

Explain how you attune to energy vibrations.

Everything is energy. Certainly we’ve been hearing a lot about that lately. It’s time for us to begin to understand and assimilate that and take it in as the truth that it is. Energy here is designed to flow in a certain way. When we understand how energy is designed to flow, it’s easy to attune to it. You just flow with it. You have to be willing to do that, however, as a first step.

What are the intentions of your soul?

I came here, as everyone does, to learn and teach about love. My intentions are to provide people with the tools they need for self-empowerment. That is what the entire Spiritual Toolbox™ is about. It’s a model for people to use for connection and alignment of purpose and co-creating.

How do you help people understand soulful experience is not limited to 5 senses?

I say this: We have our physical body that we are quite aware of with all of our senses. Then we have our spiritual body, which is no less real, but which we aren’t quite so attuned with because most people can’t “see” it. If you being to understand yourself as having a very real spiritual body, you can begin to understand how important it is to take care of it just as you would your physical body. The soul is indwelling. When we connect the dots, connect the energies that are contained in our spiritual body, with the physical body, there is nothing we cannot do. Limitations become an illusion and synchronicity becomes the order of the day.

Choose 3 things you resonate with that help you grow.

Meditation is one. Another is being willing to examine oneself at a very core level, and being then willing to get rid of what no longer moves you forward. This is where people have the most trouble. They hang on to things. Another is the willingness to love without conditions or fear. I am never afraid to love. The challenge in any moment is always to BE the love.

Share an experience where you know you were making the right choice yet, you were afraid.

I’ve never felt afraid of any choice I’ve made. It’s not that I’ve always made “right” choices. It’s just that I’ve never been afraid of them. All paths eventually converge to take you to wherever you’re supposed to be or go.

What does fear teach you?

Whenever fear arises, there is opportunity to return to love. It’s from love that we create, not fear.

How would you advise people who wish to reconnect with their authentic power?

The first thing is to get out of fear. The second thing is to examine what is blocking you at the root. The third thing is to learn how to live in the moment. And the fourth is to be willing to align with your purpose.

Scarcity of self-value means many people often forget who they are. What is the greatest gift?

Every single day is the greatest gift. There is opportunity in every single day to be who you are. It’s a choice.

You are a master of manifesting. You write on angel awareness, intutitive cooking, channelled messages, and other topics. To what do you attribute true success?

How sweet. Thank you. True success is measured by what is in your heart, not in your wallet. We achieve true success by just doing what we came here to do. Sometimes that doesn’t show up as our current definition of success (money). And that’s ok. It’s when we go chasing after trying to “make” money that true success eludes us.

What guidance can you offer people who commit to goals, but do not realize them?

Goals are a function of the mind and of the wants, needs, and desires of the ego. It’s not that they are bad or that we shouldn’t set goals. It’s just that this is not where we create. The energy of creation resides in the root, not in the mind. Goal setting and intention setting is and should be a form of alignment with our purpose. Anything else puts us in a position of getting in our own way.

Any additional thoughts or ideas you wish to share?

Yes. We’re definitely starting to get it. When the universal Law of Attraction filtered in here as the truth that it is, people took it as a way to get what they want. That’s not the purpose of it. The Law of Attraction is but one step in the process of manifesting and co-creating. So it was very important that we learn it. But now we need to take it a step further. We need to take everything several steps further.

Thank you Dyan for sharing these insights. It is reassuring to many human beings to realize the positive forces of angels are everywhere, and accessible to everyone who chooses to believe.

Visitors are invited to learn about Dyan's Spiritual Toolbox™ full of products for multi-dimensional living and integrative healing. Interview with Pamir Kiciman

Pamir Kiciman empowers people in roles as a Life Enrichment educator and founder of Oasis Reiki in South Florida, U.S.A. He spent the last 15 years training in energy medicine, holistic health, intentional healing, meditation, spiritual psychology and self-healing models. I grew aware of his work though a blog carnival. I interview him on self-healing transformation.

Pamir, your work is inspirational. What process led you to realize you are a healer?

This is probably my favorite question. Prior to being a healer, I was involved and educated in the literary and dramatic arts. I spent 20 years in theater and studied world literature and arts from a humanistic and experiential perspective. This was my grounding in understanding what it is to be human. That, and my own life choices gave me a unique perspective; something like a triple PhD in life! A lot of it was hedonistic and self-destructive. It was full tilt and I wouldn't replace it, but in the end my life became unsustainable. The suffering was too great.

There was a spontaneous dawning in my consciousness, which remained only that for about 5 years before I took any action. A guiding nudge finally lead me to the divine intervention I received through grace. I accepted this with abandon. It awakened my willpower and started a long healing and strenuous process. And it eventually changed my life irrevocably.

What have you learned about identity shifts?

I'm not certain that we change identities. As you put it Liara, we shift. The shift is about emerging, more than anything else. It's the emergence of all that you are, instead of only facets of a personality.

I was looking for my self through all my indulgences, and seeking unconditional love too. When I found both, my indulgences ceased and I realized both were already in me. Instead of the unhappy bohemian, there emerged a happy healer who had been there all along. I came into my fullness.

What does it require for a person to awaken to his or her true nature?

Each person's case is a little different, but also the same. Usually, pain is the prompt. If there are no consequences, we continue our misguided ways because we don't have the presence of mind to realize it eventually catches up with us. When pain reaches critical mass there are two choices: continue escapism and numbing the pain (which creates more pain, but unfortunately not always awakening), or pluck up your courage and step onto the path you're essentially choiceless to take.

I 'woke' up at age 33. Nearly 17 years later I'm still awakening and awake, all at the same time. What I mean by 'choiceless' is that if you don't now, you will at some point. The choice we do have is how we prolong or fast track it. Awaken we must, however. That is the setup.

When did you begin sensing and feeling energy more consciously?

I first started sensing energy in the creative process, especially on stage between myself and my fellow actors, the director and the rest of the production crew, as well as between the stage and the audience. I was very aware of the power of the stage and how it's received in the auditorium. Each place I performed, first order of business was to walk all over the stage, look up into the rafters, walk into the wings and backstage; always had to breathe in the space before making any creative choice.

The type of conscious sensing and feeling you're speaking of, began with formal sitting meditation. Because I had substantial personal healing ahead of me, there began an energetic relationship with my organs and body parts, emotions and thoughts. Then there was soul healing.

What triggered this "soul-healing"?

Reiki work expanded my sensitivity, together with other vibrational healing such as sound, crystals, flower essences, and communicating with nonphysicals and/or the spirit of living things like trees and animals. Regarding what triggered it, I started to meditate in the first place because it was part and parcel of the divine intervention made available to me. I couldn't exactly say "no" even as it was excruciating at first. As an FYI for non-meditators: Meditation is a complete solution.

How do you explain sensing personal vibration and other kinds of energy alignment or imbalance?

If we're honest with ourselves, we know when there's mis-alignment and imbalance. There are other factors like fear: for example, you may feel your job isn't energetically matched but are uncertain about changing it or creating your own.

Honesty can be hard to come by because it requires unwavering courage. For many it's easier to continue hiding. Someone I was once helping told me, "It's going to be way too much work for me to learn to love myself. I prefer to continue all my bad habits and surround myself with people who're a bad influence on me." She realized this in a single session and I never saw her again.

I don't know what she did with her insight. What we do with our insights is a personal responsibility. It's the old adage, can lead to water, but...

What advice do you offer people who would like to see and work with auras?

I prefer calling it a personal energy or ki field.

Here's my bottomline on developing such sensitivities: Find an authentic spiritual teaching and practice that is firmly rooted in perennial wisdom and go deep in living, applying and being it.

From there, receive any gifts that emerge with gratitude and most importantly, with humility. Don't seek gifts. Simply seek. Grow and evolve the self. The rest is candy.

How do you teach people to develop faith and trust in a semi-invisible energy process?

My orientation is always practice-based spirituality. Hearing truth has its place, if it's actually truth coming from a lectern or book. Eventually, the intellectual suspension of disbelief has to be transformed into visceral experience and knowing. When you practice, the object of your faith and trust simply shows up, undeniably.

Which aspects of your own transformation process are especially memorable?

This is tough to answer. It's like asking which aspects of Love do you love? My transformation gave me myself, my essence, I can't pick a favorite.

I can say this: The numinous became central to who I am, how I live and what I do. That memory is divine and eternal.

What do you sense is causing a widespread soul awakening and more heightened sensitivities?

It's cyclical. All the various information regarding 2012 is at play here. We are in an ascending age.

Which signs suggest body is merging with emotions and mind in a new consciousness?

There are many signs of a new consciousness from business to science, green awareness, social ethics, politics and in all spheres. It's slow, but we're moving into an inclusive model. The model that no longer serves is an exclusive one.

Old power says "power over." New empowerment says "power with."

Altruism, stewardship and better distribution of equality and resources are essential to our survival. As the supposedly most intelligent species, we've certainly made our world untenable.

Share some lessons you have learned from clients.

My work gives me the opportunity for radical participation in humanity. I am a record-keeper for each person's story. It's said that if you've no one to tell your secrets, tell them to a tree for safe-keeping. I'm that tree.

I've learned that acknowledgment is crucial. Trust is central. Love is without question the most potent force. We share the same secrets. Personality is a covering. We're all ancient. Good prevails. Beauty is endless.

As you reflect on your dreams, what do you gain? Do they help cleanse your personal energy field?

This is one area I can learn from you Liara. I'm very good with the imaginal, but I haven't focused so much on dreamtime specifically. Many dreams are a mind dump, the cleansing you mention. When my dreams are significant, I always know and can interpret.

This suggests you will appreciate my forthcoming ebook called, Harness the Energy of Your Dreams. What additional remarks would you like to share here?

The quality of the questions we ask in large part determine the answers we receive.

Pamir, I appreciate the opportunity to share these insights with visitors. You inspire people to remember everything is energy and that thoughts of love are especially powerful self-heling tools. The simple things in life are so valuable. What a great reminder to focus more on them.

You've asked some great questions Liara, and I'm thankful because it's been thoroughly enjoyable and I've been enriched.

That feeling is mutual. As you imply, it is by taking responsibility for growth that you learn about the self and transcend thought form energies you outgrow.

I invite visitors to explore the wealth of wisdom available at Pamir's Reiki Help Blog:

Dale Beaumont & interview to inspire dreams

Dale Beaumont is a young Australian whose incredible energy and prolific writing inspire others to reconnect with their own inner passion.

After reading about him and hearing The Creative Penn Podcast with Joanna, I approached him to share insight about what makes him tick. He collaborates to empower people to write their own way to success.

Dale, when did life truly begin for you?

Sydney, Australia, June 1981. That's when I was born.

After highschool, you wrote, The World at Your Feet. That set the stage for the dream you live through the 'Secrets Exposed' series. Sketch some highlights;

The first book released into stores in November 2005. By late 2007, I told Growth Business Magazinea total of 15 ‘Secrets Exposed’ books had been released, and 200,000 copies sold. Incredibly, 11 of those 15 books were published in 2007.

You marvel readers with such accomplishments. Which 5 things most influnce or inspire you?

1. My wife Katherine. She has a great business brain and always knows the right thing to say at the right time.

2. Meeting the hundreds of inspiring people who are part of the ‘Secrets Exposed’ book series.

3. Being an elite Gymnast 7 years and having a great coach who always let me know I was capable of achieving more.

4. Being involved in Network 21, a training company that offers great seminars in personal and leadership development.

5. Working with teenagers – they never cease to amaze me with their creative spirit and desire to make a difference.

Why create the 'Secrets Exposed' series? I mean, what is the real purpose or motivation behind this project?

Its about helping people to get up-close and personal with highly-successful individuals, providing a medium to discover inspirational stories, what drove them to achieve and how they approach challenges in life and business.

People we admire started in exactly the same place. The vast majority didn’t come from privileged backgrounds. They had very rocky roads with misadventures and personal obstacles.

High-achievers take the time to really think about what they want, and then don’t compromise and sell out when things get a little tough. Also, successful people commit to continual growth. They understand the power of simple positive steps.

That insight really hits home for a lot of people. Its commonto be confused about why you are not in a situation like someone you admire. You suggest everyone is exactly where he needs to be now.

As it happens, my next book covers 730 inspirations to help readers realize they are awakening skills inside based on who they admire. 365 Daily reflections offer glimpses into mentors' lives according to theme, my connection and universal lessons. As you imply, we learn from each other, based on remaining open and creating opportunity.

In any event, what brought you to your current mindset in your own writing process?

While working with teenagers, I always sayonly two ways exist to live – one is through ‘trial & error’ and the other is by ‘following a recipe’. I discovered that whatever you want, chances are, someone is already living it. They have already invested the time, effort, and moneyto succeed. So sure, you can go out and do it all yourself or, you can find someone who already has results and ask him to share what he has learnt.

How would you describe your view of 'success?'

For me, success is; Balance, Happiness and Impact.

Firstly, there are many different facets to a person’s life. It is a waste of time being a multi-millionaire if you’re unhealthy, your marriage is in taters, you have a poor relationship with your kids and you do nothing for your community – really, what is the point. I believe that for a person to be truly successful they must take some time to focus on each aspect of their life. It doesn’t mean every area needs to be a perfect 10 (nobody’s is), however it is important to keep things balanced and in the right perspective.

Secondly, people need to focus on doing things that are going to make them happy. Don’t wait because weeks quickly become months and months quickly become years! Maybe it is a dream holiday with the family, taking up a sport or hobby or time with special friends. Remember this saying, “Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success.”

Thirdly, at the end of our lives, I believe that we should be able to say ‘I gave more to the world than I took from it’. So for me, making a difference and having an impact on people is an important thing. And I really see the things that I am doing now as just the beginning.

Where is the 'Secrets Exposed' series expanding?

The series has expanded into Asia already– specifically the markets of Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei. Then, there is New Zealand.  Of course, I can’t take the soul credit. It really has been a team effort.

One hears popular seminars have developed out of these books, but tell us about the business.

Outside of the ‘Secrets Exposed’ books and seminars, we have continued to grow our first business, Tomorrows Youth International, and I set up a new website (www.GetPublishedSecrets.com) to show people how to successfully make money with their own book ideas.

In a nutshell, what do you recommend to people who are on their own path to creating success?

Nothing happens overnight.

After school, I attended loads of personal development seminars. After 9 months of earning and learning, I established my first business called Tomorrows Youth. Three years later, I created the Secrets Exposed series.

Everyone is a mentor

I didn’t really have a single coach or mentor in early days of my business. I had a whole host of people that I could call on when I needed help. That was one of the great things about attending lots of seminars, you get to meet a lot of people – all with their own area of expertise. I honestly had over 100 meetings in that first year of business. It was the best business education I could have received.

Expect setbacks

My first year of business, I was 19 and naive. I didn’t really have any fear. I think I was running on pure adrenaline. Having the support of my best friend, as my business partner, was pretty cool. Thankfully, I am blessed with good self-esteem and I am highly confident in my abilities. I always asking people for help and take lots of action.
