Drop achor & set sail

Certain mindsets and ideas may hold us down like an anchor keeps a ship in one place.  Do you feel like a prisoner in shallow or stagnant water? External influences might orient your focus, and prevent you from realizing different ways you can value and expand yourself.  Learn to make choices that enable you to energize.  Find ways to see through reasons that impose guilt or fear.

Did you know that you can free yourself from the mindsets and attitudes which hold you back?  Sometimes, its hard to gain a sense of your true bearings.  Yet, until you discern for yourself how, where and why you're caught in a bind, you will be unable to free yourself.  You won't see a need to free yourself or change your point of view.  Decide you wish to move ahead. Open your eyes.  Unleash your senses.

True knowing goes beyond your perceived projection, impressions or expectations.  You direct your own pace and timing for self-disclosure.  You can decide anything is possible.  As you reflect on your attitude and choices, you can discover how instructive it really is.  What have you learned from your decision-making and the results it has brought? Its never too late to learn more.  Its never too late to uncover ideas that cage you, or to break free of your limitations.

If you hear nothing, you may notice nothing.  Imperceptibly, you may close yourself off from your potential.  Adopt a more positive attitude.  Begin to see the appeal of learning and rediscovering new aspects of your true self.  You build your own walls. You can tear them down.  You are captain of your ship.  This means you can choose to raise anchor and set sail at will.  Awaken to the mystery of being truly alive.

Animalistic tendencies?

Enough is enough. Whatever people are doing around you, this doesn't mean you have to think like them or behave like them. You can decide to change the view you have of yourself. Did you ever begin to expect positive personality changes in your life? People may overlook you and your many efforts. Yet, if you keep doing the right thing, your life is going to unfold in ways you may never have thought possible. Amidst all of this, would you have animalistic tendencies?

Some people begin to compare themselves to an animal based on personality traits. You may hear people may call themselves or others: "lazy as a sloth," "forgetful as a goldfish," "slow as a snail," "sly as a fox," "vain as a peacock," "unpredictable as a chameleon," "neurotic as a male hyena" or, "talkative as a parakeet."  These particular comparisons are criticisms that don't bolster positive thinking.  Why would we go so far as to reinforce the negative with such vivid visual examples? Would it be a desire to drive the self-doubt home? Why might you associate yourself with creatures you don't reallly like? This may signal that deep down, you don't like aspects of yourself. Why not turn the tables so that a positive side shines through?

Comparisons with some animal and insect personality traits can indeed be very uplifting and complimentary. You may have heard, "wise as an owl," "industrious as an ant," "loyal as a dog," "conscientious as a chimpanze," "graceful as a swan," "social as a butterfly," "soar like an eagle" or, "improvise like a grasshopper." These views reflect compliments which carry over to enable people to feel good.

As you realize you have choices and free will, you can step back and visualize the traits you believe you have hidden inside or would like to develop. You evolve into how you think. You can envision 'the new you' by making comparisons with animals and personality traits you admire. If you desire to become a more effective communicator, decide you will.  Seek out desirable situations. Decide to be "happy as a clam." Extroverts hone their social skills.  It enables them to "transform like a dragonfly." The opposite effect may happen with introverts who decide to be "quiet as a mouse," "invisible as a spider web" or "uncomfortable as a fish out of water."

What does all this mean, you ask? It draws attention to not only the choices of words we use to describe ourselves, but also the complex ways we go about clarifying how we see ourselves and others. Whether or not animal and insect personalities offer insight into human personalities is less important than the perception we and societies have of such comparisons. Its useful to recall animal personalities have more than one side. More than one trait or personality associated is associated with each animal. As you review the influences on your mindset, you might consider animal personallity traits and which matches yours? https://www.seeker.com/animals-and-their-characteristics-1768684135.html

Think up your existence

Human beings never really see the whole story of their lives as its unfolding.  Situations you initially judge as tragic or disappointing may reveal a completely different perspective that you missed.  How would your mindset affect all that?  Quite honestly, it is the pivotal part that shapes everything.  You actually devise or think up your existence.  Can you see through illusion?

If you decide your thinking process will limit your experience, it will, that is, unless it doesn't.  How you draw from your mind is what you will perceive and express.  You are exactly what you think.  You are the level of awareness which is experienced.  You've already done the choosing.  Everything you desire to do, be and have will unfold right before your eyes.  Just concentrate.

Its said that the highest level of pleasure you will experience would be an offshoot of creating who you really are.  Thinking positively will help convince you that you can create such an experience.  You can tap into those resources which will enable you to see clearly.  Choosing options of lower levels of pleasure enables you to forget why you're alive and what you were really born to do. Yet, learning to recognize what you aren't enables you to see what you are.  Condition yourself to sense the positive.

Inspirational roadkill

In this day and age, mobility is no longer only a dream for everyone. People who desire to get from place to place have many options at their disposal. Nonetheless, we still benefit greatly from thinking positively. This helps to better deal with many variables that enter into the equation which may otherwise cause us to lose our cool and feel somewhat helpless.

For instance, how often do you hear about people running out of gas at the side of some road? This kind of obstacle keeps you from getting from where you are to where you wish to go. If this happens, you still have a choices. You can permit yourself to get all frustrated about what you could've done and what you can't control or, you can focus on how to become more resourceful.

In my life, I once ran over a piece of previously dead roadkill splattered on the highway. This happened at night.  The bones of the animal punctured and blew my car tire.  At the time, I had a girlfriend as a passenger. Neither of us had cell phones or any roadside assistance membership card. My girlfriend wasn't keen on hitch-hiking at all, let alone in the dark on this highway between Amherst, Nova Scotia and Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada. What a blustery night and unsual memories!

To make things more exciting, my friend started imagining stories of prospective murderers who could stop abruptly and quietly dispose of us. I wasn't taken in by her fear and thought more about proactively creating solutions. To invite assistance, I got out of the car on the windy night and bravely stuck out my thumb. I honestly had to work at it. After all, hitchhiking is an art and persuading passing cars to stop isn't always easy. Admittedly, there was little traffic. 18 wheelers didn't look like they would stop.  My optimism wouldn't lead me to to make frantic arm gestures.

Lucky for us, before too long, two university student guys drove by in this small chortling vehicle. They were all bundled up in hats, scarves, mits and wooly clothes for the cold winter weather. My girlfriend wasn't sure if she should get into their car. I told her to think positive and we would find a garage in no time. She hesitated, but decided it seemed better to leave in that car with me and strangers than to stay alone in the isolated cold car along the highway. I thought, 'fabulous,! she was thinking more positively!' I thought this would attract better things.

After puttering along for a time and chatting with these straingers along the icy road toward Amherst, we did find a gas station that was still open at that late hour. Alpha thinking worked! We thanked the students, who drove away into the night. The towing guy took us out onto the highway in his monstrous truck. He was able to bring the necessary tools to change the tire along the road. Before long, my girlfriend and I were again on our way for the rest of the drive home. She didn't seem convinced roadkill could inspire positive thinking, but I knew differently.

Reframe your view

Some people will ask, "what must be done to make life work more in my favor?" or, "why do I seem to deserve repeated struggles?" Perhaps the trouble starts in your own mind, along with nagging questions and your reactions to prospective answers.

The thing is, the truth of your life is actually proven or disproven based on how you think. Raising your awareness is what you need to do. You may ask about what? Why not teach yourself to expect good things? You can't grow through negative thinking. Condition positive thinking instead. Consider spending time on those things that enable you to feel good about yourself. Learn to understand why you think as you do. How could you take steps to focus on more uplifting thoughts?

Every day is a new beginning. Perhaps you could stengthen the skill of forgetting? Move on. You need to be determined to overcome weaknesses which focus your thoughts of guilt and fear. We only need to train our minds, reinforce an attitude with affirmations. This will prompt your own transformation. You realize there's never a better time than now to reframe your point of view.

"If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought." ~Peace Pilgrim
