Learn to live according to your decisions

If you are ready and willing to make life changes, then you are also learning to live by your decisions.  Before you will be in an informed position, you have to learn to be aware of how and why you think.  Whatever you are doing right at this moment, offers you lessons in faith and courage.  How do you discern and integrate them into your life?

To believe in self-improvement may lead you to assume you have things wrong with you.  In this way, the self-growth concept may be viewed as destructive.  Yet, it is not necessary to criticize and degrade yourself in order to expand and strengthen the soul.  In fact, you do this unconsciously already. To live according to your decisions would bring it to a conscious level.   To think and feel with deliberate intent transforms you.

Each time you devise a solution or action, part of you responds with an excuse and other parts of you are receptive.  Which parts do you choose to hear? It is possible you know someone who relives the same problems or situations.  This may sound like you.  Maybe you resist or hesitate to act on advice. Do you ignore that inner voice of guidance?  Why is it that people hold back from what they sense is right? How does this serve you?

Evolution is not a straight line.  You have latent or dormant abilities in the soul.  You have not even begun to unveil the extent of your faculties and potential.  Whether or not you realize, you are building on yourself all the time; how and what you perceive and your chosen focus.  You constantly decide to explore new possibilites for self-expression. 

Each decision you make to detach from your own perception of trouble, discomfort and imperfection, is another step toward realizing your true nature.  Life experience teaches you that you learn better what feels good by discovering what does not.  You learn which jobs and relationships build you up or not as the result of knowing the opposite.  In this way, part of you has decided to live by a process of elimination.

You are never upset for reasons you assume

Anytime you react to a person or situation, you do so based on your adopted beliefs or assumptions.  You may feel justified because you feel upset or, you feel as though you must vent somehow since events are not going your way.  What if none of that matters?

Whenever you get upset, this signals you desire to unload certain kinds of energy.  To nurture distressing thoughts and hold them inside is a way you disturb your peace of mind.  If a relaxed state of mind is your core state, that is, where you begin and return, then you have reasons why you create the illusion of anything else.  Why would that be?

People create hierarchies of importance.  These are illusions.  One kind of upset is not more or less serious than another.  You can evolve to believe the form of any source of distress in your life matters less than recognizing it is an ego strategy to distract you.

Consider you never worry for reasons you think.  You are never angry for reasons you think. Every reaction has a lag time from its catalyst.  As you learn to follow the thread of your feelings back to reasons why you create them, then your emotional states will no longer control you as they do now. Perception distracts you from meaningful growth.

What is this all about?

Remember the occasion when you began to ask what all this is about? You had directions to get you to a particular place, yet obstacles kept presenting themselves as if to keep you away.  You appeared to be doing fine, but on the inside, you were imploding!

It was dark.  You misread your directions, turned left instead fo right, drove to where you had almost no gas, and then pulled over.  Part of you cried out, "am I meant to get there?"  You might have wished for help from a stranger or even for divine intervention.  You might have shaken your head in disbelief.  What is it about  your impatience?

The fear based beliefs that you creat in your mind are the cause of all your hardship.  They are the fundamental reason why you assume you will not arrive at a destination, why you secretly think you are not worthy or, do not deserve all you have or will get. 

Discomfort arises to shake up your peace of mind precisely because learning to deal with uncertainty is what you life is about.  You subconsciously live for this.  It is about building on what you think you know, rethinking love and compassion, and recreating the world in which you choose to live.  You are what this is about.  After all, this is your life.

Uncover innate wisdom

To meditate on something other than the self allows widsom to reveal itself.  To discover the feeling of selflessness arises on the inside.  Are you ready to embrace experiences that demonstrate how much you love yourself?  Will you accept that all you do or do not do serves you?

Everything unfolds as is predicted, not based on the visions of self-interested people, but as is meant to be.  You will recognize when trials seem unavoidable in your life.  Yet, you will also evolve to sense trials arise and test you for good reason.  Uncover the wisdom.

To ask yourself how a given situation will improve you isn't a question to pose before an experience.  Only after you  live and learn are you in a position to reflect or grasp why obstacles stood in your path.  You create obstacles to learn to overcome each of them.

From whichever vantage point you gaze, the world and your conditions will appear different.  Yet, you are always the same being.  This shows you that only your perception and self-image change, not who or where you are.  Improvement is a state of mind.

Is perfection really unattainable?

From a very young age, we each begin accepting messages that reinforce we're anything but perfect.  Society bombards us with reasons to question our self-image, our comfort zone, and our overall self-view.  What are your early memories of not being good enough? 

You may reflect on school, athletics, creative endeavors, physical growth where you compared yourself to other people.  Maybe they seemed to receive more praise or encouragement.  Each person who seemed better than you reinforced your deficiencies.

You may have developed ways to measure yourself against levels and standards set by other people.  Why do you exert effort in an attempt to live as other people believe you should? How can you expect to live up to changing ideals over which you exert no control?

As you evolve inside yourself, you begin to grasp how standards of perfection set by other human beings could be ever-shifting, increasing, decreasing and hard to follow.  Its unrealistic to believe you can shapeshift at the same pace and evolve into what someone else wants.  What you can do is reframe your sense of happiness to measure perfection.

Obscure notions of perfection stem from other people. These ideas are hard to pin down.  From a spiritual point of view, being connected to forces beyond you remind you that you are a sentient being of perfection.  You are perfect as you are.  This means you need not exert effort to please others or take steps to evolve into something you're not. 

What if the love inside you is a sign of your innate perfection?  What if you need not struggle?  What if happiness is not a carrot at the end of a stick you must pursue?  If your understanding of perfection is based on temporary, changing, and external conditions, it may seem unattainable.  Yet, if you sense that perfection is a synonym for infinite love energy inside and around you, then you realize its static and accessible always. 

Curiously, you may evolve to think the concept of self-improvement is problematic.  If you sense this implies things are wrong with you that require fixing, then you begin to see how the fallacy is perpetuated in culture and your mind. You live the life you believe.  You dream about what you don't have or experience or, you dream about all the wonderful things you already are.  Some people fluctuate in-between.  Where do you stand now?
