Interview with Nandini Gosine-Mayrhoo

As an alumnus of International Space University, I have long valued interdisciplinary vision and Future Life Design.

Over a period, I have been drawn to connect with Future Life Institute (FLI) creator John Mee (author-Transcendental Engineering)and FLI contributors such as Anne Jirsch and Amit Goswami (whom I interviewed on my former BlogTalkRadio Show & wrote a testimonial for one of my early books).  Most recently, I connect with Nandini Gosine-Mayroo. She is a wealth of insight: a specialist in metaphysics, a research analyst and writer for the FLI.

Appreciate very much your willingness to engage in this dialogue for our readers.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity.

How has your childhood experience guided and influenced your life journey?

Having been born into a Hindu family, I grew up witnessing the religious ceremonies of this ancient faith. While I always felt somewhat alienated from those rituals, I intuited that my heritage held a special truth. In my early teens, I had what I can only describe as some form of mystical experience while sitting at my father’s altar. My life has been a journey of attempting to understand that experience and to gain a deeper appreciation of the wisdom in the teachings of Hinduism.

Mystical experience is increasingly widespread.  Dr. Wayne Dyer echoes that we can become mystical beings simply by changing the mind from one that creates and experiences problems, to a mind that resolves them.

The popularity with science fiction films and books shows fascination with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and where it heading.  Tell us about Future Life Institute and how you came to collaborate.

Future Life Institute, founded by John Mee, has formulated a scientific approach to enhancing human consciousness. While humanity’s scientific and technological advancement over just the past 50 years is indeed impressive, human consciousness has not kept pace. Without the spiritual wisdom to manage our scientific developments in ways that serve humanity, we could very likely use those developments to destroy ourselves. FLI recognizes the wisdom teachings of Hinduism, including reincarnation, as truth. Its work is dedicated not only to helping individuals enhance their consciousness in this life, but in future lives as well. The former can be achieved via scientific developments in genetic engineering, preceded by comprehensive education and psychological counseling in managing higher states of consciousness. The latter is achieved through dedicated learning in FLI’s Future Life Design program.

On meeting John Mee, I was immediately interested in his valuable work. As a writer, I assist in promoting FLI’s work through varied media.

Michaelangelo echos: 'The greatest danger for most of us is not that we aim too high and we miss it, but we aim to low and reach it.'  Share  how you came to focus on the evolution of consciousness.

I have always been intrigued by the concept of maya, the illusion of this world. It seems to me the greatest challenge of being human - being able to negotiate the demands of our lives successfully, while maintaining a sense of detachment from its reality.  I’ve also always been intrigued by the attainment of moksha, the liberation from the cycle of birth and rebirth.  While the ancient texts speak of moksha as being attainable through self-realization – exactly how does one achieve that? I guess I’ve had a lifelong interest in higher consciousness, searching but not entirely sure on where to find the answers.

What differences and benefits do you see (if any) between the spiritual and scientific evolution of consciousness?

The spiritual evolution of consciousness is said to occur over countless lifetimes. A cursory assessment of humanity’s present collective consciousness supports this theory – we seem to have a very long way to go before achieving a higher consciousness where we can coexist in peace.  Conversely, our scientific evolution is leaping forward in ways where we are struggling to grasp the long term societal effects. How will robotics affect employment? How do displaced workers live? If scientists have the ability to genetically engineer human traits, should parents be able to dictate the eye color, athletic or intellectual capability of their offspring? If greed and the desire for power remain as the base human instincts controlling our world, how will those with access to these scientific developments use them?

Well, it appears artificial lines of separation need to be healed between science and spirituality...

Exactly! Rather than being separate things, we need to harness the scientific and spiritual evolution of our consciousness, to keep pace with these scientific developments. The scientific enhancement of human consciousness via genetic engineering is by no means a “quick fix”, as considerable spiritual training and counseling is required to manage and maintain long term higher states of consciousness. The scientific and spiritual evolution of our consciousness must work in tandem if we are to evolve into our highest potential. Traversing countless more lifetimes is an outdated approach to higher consciousness, which in our current era, no longer serves our true potential.

I love Sadhguru, the founder of Isha Institute of Inner Engineering. he reminds us the mind is a complex amalgam of many influences. He also echoes the more identified we are with these influences, the further away we are from ourselves, and one could also say the truth.

How would you describe stages of your own awakening? What did it reveal about your gifts?

I had an innate interest in spirituality, and as an introverted child I spent long days wondering about the world around me. I read Lobsang Rampa, the Bhagavad Gita and other spiritual material in my teenage years, which made me very aware of the human ability to experience the esoteric. In my later years I’ve awakened to an urgent call from Mother Nature, as a remarkable device named The Music of the Plants came into my life.   I have learnt that communication with plants is possible, something that was not previously a part of my spiritual yearning.

Tuning into the vibrations of nature changes how we relate to ourselves and the world. Finding the middle road between natrue and technology baffles a lot of people.

From yoru view, what is cognitive engineering and why is it important for humanity?

Cognitive engineering is the process of scientifically actualizing the potential of human cognitive functions, through genetic engineering. Our cognitive processes include sensation, perception, attention, intelligence, memory, thought - basically the functions required to negotiate our surroundings and our lives.

Cognitive engineering of our brain-based skills provides the means of becoming more intelligent beings, more perceptive of how our actions impact our immediate and long term future. It can enhance our critical thinking skills, enabling us to devise suitable solutions to the problems we face. FLI’s work has a greater emphasis on consciousness enhancement, as opposed to only enhancing cognitive brain-based skills. FLI’s work brings balance between intelligence and spirituality - which must be the way humanity fulfils its fullest potential.

Many people are familliar with the films like Bladerunner 2049 and RoboCop and the robotic arms on the Space Shuttles and other space technolgy.

How do you see the future relationship involving robots and human beings unfolding?

I have not seen Robocop. Robotics is now replacing and will continue to replace manual jobs. A failure to adapt to these rapid economic changes will certainly result in a dissatisfied populace, susceptible to empty promises from demagogues – not the future we wish to envisage. Robotics development is calling for humanity to up its intellectual potential. Jobs in the future will demand heightened cognitive ability. Some futurists anticipate singularity – when artificial intelligence becomes smarter than humans. Even the technology we have today is evidence that this may indeed be a possibility. Rather than creating machines that outsmart us, humanity should focus on increasing its own intelligence. As mentioned previously, intellectual strides must be accompanied by the spiritual.

How much truth do you see in popular culture films such as Next Gen?  Which films or books do you feel offer an accurate take on the technology revolution in this world? What would you like to see?

I will admit that I have never seen Next Gen! Star Trek and Star Wars sum up my sci-fi repertoire!

Can totally relate to the Star Wars/Star Trek and Contact movie fan club...

Speaking of technology revolution, the communication devices and sliding doors in Star Trek provided glimpses into our future. Perhaps the holographic communication seen in Star Wars will be our reality before long. My personal interest lies more in films and books that speak of galactic intelligence and communication. Thor to my mind provides hope for a future meeting with extraterrestrials in a way that earlier films such as Close Encounters of the Third Kind only suggested is possible. I am currently reading 2150AD by Thea Alexander - a depiction of a future intellectually advanced utopian society. I would like to think that the film producers and book writers who provide these glimpses into our possible future, are divinely inspired to plant seeds of hope in our ailing society.

So much on the horizon while so much is already here as well, yet not necessarily in public use...

Anyway, you have also written about reincarnation. What is your take on the subject? What causes you to feel this way?

Having a Hindu heritage, reincarnation is encoded in my DNA. Applying some rational thought to the theory of reincarnation, it seems the only logical explanation to what makes each of our lives different – as reincarnation and karmic learning go hand in hand.

Imagine a world where reincarnation and karma no longer existed or was no longer necessary because humanity had expanded consciousness beyond it.  Now that is food for reflection!

If you could leave our readers with a vision or some advice, what would it be?

My high school best friend and I had a motto “Look up, reach out”…we even shortened it to “LURO” at the end of our numerous notes to each other (this was back when written notes were still a thing!). I think it is fitting advice for humanity at this interesting and challenging time in our evolution. We need to look up to our highest potential, beyond the limitations within which we have confined ourselves. We also need to look up to the skies above us, devising ways of reaching out to the more intelligent life in our Universe and beyond.

6 Tips to Get on Track

From the moment we feel restless, stagnation or something hindering our progress, we may sense we are off track in areas of our life. Rest assured, strategies exist to strengthen relationships and get back on track.  Here are  6 action-oriented tips to offer new clarity.

1.  Do some free-writing

An effective starting point is to ask yourself some questions aloud, put a pen in your hand and allow your hand to respond immediately without thinking.  This is sometimes called automatic writing.  It is a way to communicate with a higher part of yourself that sees your life choices from a position of relative objectivity. Part of you is aware of what is really bothering you, yet another part of you is not listening. This is a way to begin making the unconscious, conscious.

2. Pay attention to your night dreams

As we pay attention and strengthen dream recall, it is helpful to write details.  The more we do, the easier it gets.  Techniques exist to jog the memory.  Although dream dictionaries can shed some light and also be entertaining, sometimes working with a skilled dream analyst is also beneficial.  In this way, we see deeper meaning in symbols. If this approach to shaking life up stands out, get excited for a new, related Inspirational Mentor Interview coming soon.

3. Meditate

Different ways exist to meditate;  engaging in gardening, yoga, pilates, whatever evokes joy and relaxation. It is a process shifting from the experiencer to the watcher of our thoughts and what is unfolding in our lives. A useful practice is to create a quiet space or immerse in nature.  They key is to be willing to see and feel events from a new point of view. Meditation is not about quieting the mind but rather, recognizing we are not our thoughts, not our emotions, not our mind, we are the Soul. The ego-driven purpose can differ from the Soul purpose. If meditation rings true, invite reading Interview with Susan Shumsky: Maharishi and Me

4. Explore breathwork

Breathwork is a powerful approach to self-exploration and healing. A facilitator guides us individually or in a group to consciously control the breath as a means to alter mental, emotional and/or physical state.  It can compliment different approaches we take to get to know ourselves and make choices that create a more purpose-driven life. Breathwork draws insights from modern consciousness research, anthropology, transpersonal psychology, Eastern spiritual practices, and mystical traditions.  If this sparks interest, read Interview with Dan Brule.

5. Engage in Regression

Some revelations arise and change work can also be done during regression.  Fears are released during this process and insight is given.  However its up to each of us to take information on board and apply it to our lives.  It may turn out that you grow aware of repeating patterns from childhood conditioning and may be ready to dismantle old programs. In order to heal, we must be willing to feel. We offer this as a service as an optional tool in our coaching program. If this resonates, also invite reading Interview with Karen Joy and Interview with Anne Jirsch.

6. Commit to Holistic Coaching

Liara offers a coaching program that empowers clients in twelve areas of their lives. If  this peaks curiosity or stirs something within, this is a sign to contact us for more info about our free 30 min consultation.  Discover if one of our programs feels right. We can learn from and model others until we feel more confident trusting ourselves fully.  If motivational stories inspire something, invite reading Interview with Drew Tracy.

3 Tips to rewrite your hi-story

Its common to feel unhappy about the way certain events have unfolded or seem to be unfolding in our lives.  We adopt labels. We readily define ourselves as survivors or experiencers of pain and suffering. What if we could see beyond the pain body as a witness, rewrite our hi-story and transform our present and future on every level? Would we do it? Consider these three tips:

1.  Change your attitude

For things to feel stuck or uncomfortable requires two things; an event to unfold and us to feel disturbed.  As we change our attitude, stop feeling powerless and take reposnsibility for how we feel, how and what we perceive changes. Our thoughts and responses to life are alterable. Imagine what happens as we view everything as a blessing and welcome whatever comes.

2.  Recall reality is bigger than you

This moment that appears to be unfolding in our midst is one of a zillion moments that do not fall within the scope of our awareness. The only thing different or special about the events in our experience is those are ones we see or refer to as focus of our attention.  Why allow a tiny speck of energy to determine who we are?

3. Face the fear

Patterns recur as we fear what we would be without them. Drug addicts who come off drugs generally experience withdrawal.  This is a kind  of discomfort.  The first course of action is to let go. If discomfort remains, we can deal with it on a deeper level. This is why it is said we must die to be reborn. Meditation, breathwork, regression or FLP, assist us to remove filters that prevent being, seeing, feeling and sharing pure love. Pain may seem inevitable yet, suffering is optional.

Interview with Anne Jirsch

As part of my own process of clarifying my mission in this lifetime, I have been inviting diverse healers, therapists, and a now future life progression expert, into my awareness. As Lao Tzu reminds us, When the student is ready, the teacher will appear. When the student is truly ready, the teacher Disappears. We often tell ourselves we do not know what is around the corner, but maybe we do in the heart, and do not accept it until we see fear is a stepping stone to live more fully.

Anne Jirsch of this moment arises from many life choices.  A London-born psychic and workshop leader, she is the world-renowned authority on Future Life Progression (FTP).  As a field pioneer. she runs the only FLP training school in the world.  Her clients include heads of industry, politicians and celebrities. She is also an internationally best-selling author of four books; Instant IntuitionThe Future is Yours, Cosmic Energy, and Create Your Perfect Future.  (All available on Amazon too). Being in harmony with her calling, she triggers new levels of awakening in everyone she encounters. I feel privileged to connect and appreciate her sharing this interview.

Describe key stages of your human awakening.

As a child, I would peek when my grandmother read the tealeaves. She would cure people’s warts and used herbs to make potions. I was fascinated and had a burning desire to discover more.

In my teens, I went in search of answers. I travelled to India and visited various ashrams and temples, but my biggest teacher was a beggar called Vikram. He made me see the world with different eyes.

Love that from so young, you were aware of the power of intuition and also had role models who encouraged you to trust it.  Your unexpected teacher reminds me of Dan Millman’s, The Peaceful Warrior.  On the surface, an injured gymnast meets an unexpected teacher in an auto mechanic.  On a deeper level, Dan Millman is facing his own fears of vulnerability, failure, and death.  This is the universal Path.

As it happens, Marcel Proust says, The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes. You echo a shift in perception, seeing things differently, was a pivotal moment for you.

Yes.

So, we know facing fears is key to embracing what is beyond them.  Tell us about key events that guided you to FLP as a career.

For a great many years, I had worked with cards and past life regression. One day, I was working with a couple of military men, we were trying to discover something about the past. Instead, we jumped forward and saw the attack on the Twin Towers, three weeks before it happened! At first, we were shocked, but then, I wondered if we can do this whenever we wished. We starting experimenting and the results were phenomenal.

What stands out is your invitation to each of us to celebrate what enables us to feel comforable in our own skin.  In the song Most Girls, singer Hailee Seinfeld echoes we are each unstoppable when we  follow the wave of what excites us.  Her song, Back to Life in the new film Bumblebee states: we are all looking for things we cannot seem to find until we tune into the feelings inside that won't go away. The way you consistently listen to your intuition reinforces this.

What is the difference between creative visualisation/ vision boards or future pacing and FLP?

With future life progression, we actually tap into the future, we actually see what happens. With the others, it is more wishful thinking or trying to manifest.  We really can and do see the future.

In the mainstream, we are often taught that future visions are science fiction (Sci-Fi) until technology catches up, until we develop the skills or struggle our way to make a dream happen. Popular movies and books condition the mind to believe one thing while it is beginnnig to dawn that with a different attitude, new realities arise faster.  Thanks for inviting us to shatter our own myths and trust  our experience more.

Many teachers focus on guiding students to expand or be more authentic. How would you describe your approach as a teacher and guide?

It’s all about bringing people up, inviting them to expand into new possibilities. FLP is more of a collaboration.  Our practitioners all have their own talents which FLP brings out. This allows us to guide clients, allow them to bring out their full potential. Most people have blocks and they try to manifest with their current consciousness. We take them into the future where they are beyond any blocks, we then bring that energy back to the present time. They change before our eyes.

How inspirational! Life may seem to string us along until we begin joining dots more consciously and feeling part of a larger symphony. Every revelation is a feeling of synchronicity. Its as if we know the feeling of being in harmoony with our best self, because we do and choose to forget.

Share 3 of your most emotional moments in this lifetime. What did you learn?

This is the toughest to answer; I am pretty private about such things. My most emotional moments have been when times have been tough and I’ve had to pull myself up by my bootstraps. I had very little money and a poor education to had to fight from the bottom up.

One key time would have been walking away from a long-term relationship. I packed my bags, picked up a bottle of brandy and left. Felt weird to walk away from everything you have.  Yet, it took me down a new path, opened doors and I created a wonderful life.

Your sharing here reminds us that losing everything we think we need actually brings us the experience of what we always wanted.  Eleanor Roosevelt echoes, [we] gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience where [we] stop to look fear in the face.

Your life illustrates that doing what we think we cannot do empowers us to stretch and blossom into more of ourselves. It is said our future self is living though our memories until we catch up with a more expanded and confident version of true selves.

On a more practical note, for people whose current life repeats unconscious past behaviour patterns, how does FLP help them?

Using FLP, we can take people beyond the pattern, even go into a future lifetime where we are all wiser and have moved beyond those patterns.  We have a method to locate the source of an issue and clear it.

Knowing this, it is hard to imagine people not being drawn to heal themselves on a whole new level.  Yet, fear can be immobilizing until understood and healed. In Return to Love, Marianne Williamson reminds us, our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.  Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkeness, that most frightens us.

Please share 3 examples of clients whose lives shifted as the result of FLP.

We have literally had thousands of clients experience positive results with FLP. For instance, Paul seeing himself married to a wonderful girl whom he subsequently met.  This happened after he’d given up on ever finding love.

Many of our clients have seen their future work. Wendy is a good example; she came on our training never having worked in the spiritual field. She saw herself in magazines and on stage. She thought it was just fantasy but again, within weeks it started to happen.

And many have seen their future home, Carmen saw herself living in a mansion by the sea, again she thought it was just wishful thinking.  Yet, I can vouch for her getting the home, I stayed there.

So many people benefit from being reminded of their power to change from the inside out. I also invite people to refer to your books.  You highlight the hidden power of thoughts and words. We are not only what we eat.  Our lives manifest the result of our vibrational visions and blockages which can be removed when we are ready to express our heartfelt selves more fearlessly.

Tell us of revelations you have experienced due to your own regressions/ progressions. What stands out?

There are so many. For me, what stands out was glimpsing my books before they ever materialized. I didn’t really believe this was happening because I was unknown.  Yet, I saw myself with a three-book deal, and within weeks, I had it. It all came together. It is mind-blowing to go from nothing to being published by a major publisher.

Love that authors like Dr. Bruce Lipton (Biology of Belief, Spontaneous Evolution, The Honeymoon Effect), Neale Donald Walsch (Conversations with God series) and Rhonda Byrne (The Secret in 2006,  The Power in 2009, The Magic in 2010, Hero in 2013, and How The Secret Changed My Life in 2016) all admit they were surprised at how their books came together and left a lasting impact.

The revelation I love the most was seeing my future grandchildren before they were born. I saw two boys who were brothers; then I saw a little girl. They are all here now.

But also world events, when we travel further into the future the world seems much cleaner and calmer, it is as if the human race grows up.

These examples are so inspiring and heart-warming. Many people are taught to visualize dreams and yet sparks of doubt often arise to cloud or block the unfolding. Humans are also taught to feel impatient or discouraged by time and forget they have far more control over their lives as they grow conscious and reclaim power they give away to anger, fear and other emotions.  We can each reharness all that energy and use it more constructively. The encouraging vision of the human race collectively growing up or evolving is entering the awareness of more and more of people. When it happens is up to each of us.

Share your most profound lesson about love (from this or other lifetimes)

It would be to have no judgement, if someone is fabulous in your life and makes you and your life better and happier then that is it. In the future we do not worry about age, race, religion or bank balances, it’s about how they make you feel.

As singer Harry Styles Sign of the Times echoes, we have all been here (in this world) before.  Rather than want to get away from here, we can embrace what Millman calls, The Life [We] Were Born to Live.  This brings me to your unique calling.

If you could offer insight that transformed your perception, what would it be?

Travelling into the future has changed me. I find it hard to worry about silly stuff because I know it doesn’t matter in the future. I am more clear-cut and, in some ways, harsher, I cut away negativity for instance, I am less liable to make excuses for people.

For many of us, time travel is a concept we are taught to believe requires a physical tardis like in Dr. Who, a whacky car like the invention in Back to the Future or a physical timepiece like Nicole Kidman seeks in The Golden Compass.  We are fascinated with machines that act as Stargates or  enable us to take a Quantum Leap. Films suggest we need a physical device to access different worlds and parallel realities. We forget we all do it between the ears and with every breath.

It’s a bit like when you are on plane and they say, put the oxygen mask on first then help others including your children. It goes against our instinct but it is the right way. Look after you, cut out the negativity in your life including people who drag you down, once you are strong then you can help others.
