8 Kahuna steps to heal & transform

As the story goes, a highly-developed spiritual system called Huna emerged. This word means "secret" in Hawaiian. System leaders were Kahunas or "keepers of the secret." These priests, healers and prophets radiated distinct views. Their profound ability with invisible forces led to miracles. Rhonda Byrne referred to this concept in The Secret. People like Richard Webster apply more than intuition to such folklore.

The Kahunas believed we consist of three selves: the Low, Middle and High Self. Picture each of these selves like an invisible layer of energy with a thin, sticky film over it (aka). Each Self is inter-connected with the others and the physical body they serve. Imagine the analogy of layers of an onion or Russian dolls one inside the other, even partly transparent and intermingling.

The Kahuna ritual (Ha Rite) involves focusing on your Middle Self to decide exactly what you desire. As you do, the desire mixes with life force (mana) and is sent to the Low Self, to be grasped, transformed and passed on to your Higher Self, from where the idea will have consequences outside the Self. Faith and repetition are vital. Consider these 8 Kahuna steps and learn to effectively work your own miracles:

1) Visualize with intent. Go where you’re undisturbed. Think about your specific desire and its purpose. Imagine you already experience how fulfilling life is. Inhale consciously with a series of deep breaths. Allow your muscles to relax and exhale.

2) Regulate your breathing. As you relax, get up, stand with your feet about eighteen inches apart. If possible, continue deep breathing near a window or outdoors to strengthen your mana with fresh air. Exhale slowly. Listen to each breath. Realize it nurtures the three selves with symbolic life-sustaining energy.

3) Inhale abundance. Take four, slow, deep breaths. Inhale as much air as possible each time and hold it for a few seconds before exhaling and again, breathing slowly. Sense focus will generate a bountiful offering to the Higher Self.  Feel this life force filling your body and flowing out your head as if you were a container of water.

4) Align energy. Imagine a circle of radiant, white light. Feel its radiant warmth. Picture this in the area of your solar plexus. Sense how this burst of mana energy shoots upward through your chest, neck and head, to your High Self. This intensifying circle of vibrant energy above your head is your transformed offering.

5) Will your desire into the circle. Its crucial to remind yourself of your desire, why it drives you, and picture the circle of energy above your head. Keep this vivid desire in your mind as long as you can, while adding as much detail as possible. Believe with every fibre of your soul that you have what you are requesting.

6) Speak your desire aloud. Utter “I desire (whatever).” Explain why this request will harm no person or other creature. State you desire to attract this thing to you right at this very moment. Repeat this aloud three times consecutively.

7) Express gratitude. Its desirable to openly express thanks for the life you lead and all you have already learned. Say to whom and for what you're grateful and why. Be honest with yourself.  Don't hold back.  Speak from the heart.

8) Leave it to the High Self. End the ritual with positive feelings and a sense you've done what you can. No need to dwell on your desire. You’ve passed that hot potato to your High Self energy and it will reverberate. The how it will happen part isn’t up to you. We aren't  meant to be concerned with what the Higher Self will do next.

Learn to see it for yourself

You may know people who don't like the idea of feeling sick.  They don't like the idea of staying home from work, losing their appetite, losing their lunch or, being laid up in bed.  They don't like it so much that they can't keep from complaining about it.

To feel prevented from doing what you desire to do deep down inside could cause you to feel discomfort as well.  Yet, how often do you notice internal imbalance?  Many of us could become more attuned to the signs of our physical bodies.

Part of you may not wish to accept that any kind of change or healing is necessary.  You may like to believe that all is well, that there's nothing wrong with you, that you can go on as you always have.  Yet, what if its not possible for you to recognize a problem with yourself unless something seems out of whack?  What if your body is reacting strangely to get your attention?  How are you bending to raise awareness?

Your eye would not sense a problem if its underlying vision is obscured.  Ask yourself what is it that you find so unbearable to see or accept?  From what do you choose to turn a blind eye?  You may be waiting until you sense the time is right.  Yet, real perception doesn't depend on time.  It simply depends on you.  Recognition is required before you can begin to accept anything.  Learn to see it for yourself.

Meaningful miscreations

Many people dream of having a healthier body than the one they believe they already have.  What if any kind of healing you seek is directly related to learning to release the mind from fear?  That's right.  What if its a question of exploring the reasons for your own self-created doubt?  Mind-blowing, is it not!

Some people focus on lack or issues the associate with self-image. Rather than see what they are, they tend to focus more profoundly on what they're not.  They assume conjured fear and lack are justified.  Consider the implications on esteem and self-worth.

Some people forget the body seems to act wrongly or produces curious physical symptoms when responding to misthought. When people say you look sick, do you evolve to feel that way? If someone says you look like you have a fever, do you then physiologically produce one? Consider the human mind can't create beyond itself.

Some people sense the body and its functions are open to mis-interpretation.  Some humans are diagnosed with serious or even fatal illnesses and yet, they go on defy the diagnosis and survive.  Consider whether the physical body generates its own interpretation of illness and produces symptoms as an offshoot of something unrelated. What would you say? Is healing mostly based or even all in the mind?

Cancer recovery

You know in the heart that every case of cancer is different yet ultimately the same. Each person you know, meet or hear about in this situation invites you to empathize, to share compassion, kindness and love.  Reflect on who benefits from your support/ story.

In speaking with a rotary colleague, I hear he is recovering from malignant melanoma (skin cancer). Luckily, his cancer was caught early and didn't spread (metastasize). His physician did a biopsy and cut out the area of skin which was cancerous. This colleague said he feels good now. He's already out riding his bike again. Retirement doesn't keep him from staying active. He admits he would like to avoid getting cancer again. He thrives on his support network, reminds himself to wear a hat and more sunscreen. He's lucky, humbled by the recent, health setback yet, does not allow fear to control him. As a cheerful athlete, he feels he is now more responsible, and swears by positive thinking.

In contrast, a woman I've known from 13 years is in another remission from breast cancer. Her main goal is to muster the energy and motivation each day to get up and move about her apartment.  She lives alone and has no relatives to help her. She admits her eating habits could be healthier yet, dwells more on what appears lacking than on making changes. She rarely has the physical strength or morale to advance her game. Yet, she takes initiatives to contact a group of cancer survivors/supporters who do home visits and encourage her to attend nearby New York City meetings when she can manage it.  This woman reminds us we are each ultimately alone to deal with our health and emotions. Its up to each one of us to see blessings/ lessons where we are.

Although anyone you encounter with cancer appears on the surface to be simply grappling with physcial health issues, a closer look reveals how they react or respond is based on state of mind.  You may sense someone you know recognizes having cancer as a stepping stone to strengthen relationships, to appreciate life more, to reframe conditions or to challenge and accept himself on a new level.  If a person is highly-resistant or submissive to disease, this effects the evolution of an illness as much as attitude.  Consider how different people you know or have known respond to cancer. Consider how members of your family are responding or have responded to this disease.

Whether or not a person recovers fully from an illness depends on a variety of factors.  For most people, full recovery is the goal.  For this to happen, a person is invited to reflect on thoughts and behaviours that may have contributed to the evolution of the disease.  This includes; lifestyle choices as well as physical, emotional, psychologcal, environmental and other factors.  What blessings or revelations does having the disease trigger? One thing is crystal clear:  attitude and action are key.  Take this on-board:

  • Be kind to yourself & others. Set an example.  What goes around comes around.
  • Take care of your physical body.  Explore healthy eating practices and physical exercise.
  • Be mindful.  Raising awareness boosts energy, strength and inner healing.
  • Positive thinking, affirmations, laughter/ humor and creative expression therapy all empower you to deal with whatever life throws your way the best you can.
  • Notice balance and imbalances in your life. Feel the difference and thoughts and behaviours contributing to each.  You decide what matters. What if nothing does?

"If children have the ability to ignore all odds and percentages, then maybe we can all learn from them. When you think about it, what other choice is there but to hope? We have two options, medically and emotionally: give up, or fight like hell." ~Lance Armstrong
