When do you avoid what is?

When you engage in compulsive thinking, you not only avoid what is, you allow the mind to persuade you to believe that you exist somewhere other than where you are.  To resist who you are only creates more suffering.  Eventually, reasons for why you resist fall apart, but unless you awaken to understand why, delusions are replaced by more delusions.  It is never too late to more consciously Transform your life.

Notice & heal the division

Much of your identity emerges from standing against something or standing for something other than who you are.  What if mind only exists to distract you from the essence of being? Notice and heal the division within.  Punishment is not the way to go. Instead, choose to awaken, forgive and learn. That's good karma.

Free the mind of its grasping

As you realize you can experience the mind free of all the emotional drama and stories, then you awaken to discover the path to be free from all the fear.  The unchanging state of soulful being is with you always.  It is by growing aware of this, that you remember to feel how joy happens inside. Regardless of what the mind perceives to be happening outside, you know the natural simplicity of inner peace.  Reflect on what is truly important.  Sometimes, only being silent allows you to discern and recall ever-present inner wisdom.  Feel it now.  Remember that a true teacher cannot teach you anything .. .all s/he can do is remind you of what, on some level, you already know.

Reflect on what sustains you

When the mind is busy, many people think they require particular food and drink and a variety of specific things.  The mind prompts you to fear what is or could soon be missing.  Consider what you believe you need to exist and how beliefs shape your experience. As you quiet the mind and body, you begin to notice an omniscient observer that exists beyond mind and discerns what mind in unable to see. 

As you reflect earnestly on what sustains you, then you grow aware this involves something other than perceived conditions, relationships, adrenalin or emotions of the moment, or even conditioned lifestyles or taste preferences.  How does all this invite you to recall the unshakable truth?  What is the common thread in it all? Which thoughts remind you to love unconditionally and awaken more fully? 

Every moment, you remember steps to master who you are.  Why choose to be mindful? The wise direct the mind to observe feelings in feelings, to live in serenity and joy. To be aware is to discern the true meaning of how it feels to be 'here and now,' beyond that, or lingering 'in-between.' As you remember the path to self-mastery, you experience why you exist. This is one way you Transform your life.

Clarify the process

Notice the experiences that expand your perception and understanding of love.  What distracts you from the messages of compassion in a given situation?  Where compassion exists, love does too.  Only fear distorts messages of wisdom and compassion into a reason to suppress or ignore the core messages.  Identify the intention behind action.  Intention creates the consequences.  Find the courage to awaken, challenge and heal.  You may find it useful to keep a journal about why certain observations are especially meaningful.
