Stop taking things personally

If ever you ask yourself how to stop taking things personally, you are really asking yourself to look deeper inside at what is truly bothering you.  Feeling stuck or victimized can reflect in every area of your life to get your attention.  You may wonder what or whom you are really resisting?

When you allow other people to control your emotions, you give your power away.  When you feel stuck or victimized, you resist your true self.  That is, you do something your true self would not do.  You create your own stuckness because you resist expanding beyond your belief or idea. When you are peaceful or accepting of the way life is unfolding, you accept your true nature, you accept people as they are and know it is not about you.  When you experience negativity, emotion is pointing to something you do not wish to see inside yourself.

You may resist change because you think it is threatening.  You may take things personally because you may forget confidence and worthiness are innate. The human side of you fears going into the unknown, fears what it cannot explain. It wants to go somewhere on its own terms, controlling the what, the where, when and details. The human creates an ego identity to protect.

Every moment you feel stuck or uncomfortable, you are pushing yourself outside of your self-created comfort zone.  As you choose to accept whatever other people say about you without being adversely affected, you are connected to self-acceptance.  When you truly love yourself without conditions, you stop taking things personally. What other people say no longer matters.  Your experience or projection of the external world is a mirror of how you feel about yourself.

Expand your options

What if you do nothing, allow things to settle, and then reflect on how to respond where you are? Consider the power of mind creates worlds you exist in for extended periods.  How does the mind shape choices?

From the moment you recognize the continuum of the mind has no beginning or end, you grow aware the sphere of consciousness and options available to you also have no limits.  Problems are only heavy when you hold onto them.  Any place you dislike or discomfort you feel, emprisons you.  Notice that letting go of what you carry in mind opens infinite possibilities. The soul is an open door. Walk through when you like.  Imagine feeling free and it is so. Why not expand options by giving freely and dropping expectations?  Wisdom enables you to be at peace with life, in every circumstance.  Reconnect with all that is now.

Be aware

One perspective is that different stages of awareness exist.  If you perceive and experience life in terms of past, present and future, then you can be aware after you have done something, as you are doing something and before you are going to do something.  Reflecting consciously on an experience allows you to be more fully  awake.  You gain insight and understanding. Whenever awareness penetrates deeply, you grow more mindful, foresee possibilities, and recognize you shape what unfolds.  Take responsibility to Transform your Life.

What if you feel torn?

Very often, people feel as though their choices project results which would leave them in an awkward position either way. When was the last time you felt torn among choices? What kind of experience do you have in this regard? Reflect on this amidst any quandry;

1) Consider the hidden reasons you are drawn to each choice.

2) Notice when your impulse is to appease others at expense of self.

3) Remember you are not meant to please everyone (& seeking to do so reflects state of mind).

4) Ask what is real about the question. Transitory emotional states are not real.

5) Ponder the significance of a silent mind. Events follow events. See things as they are.
