5 Insights for Smoother Transitions

More and more people are going through transitions or life changes at an accelerated rate.  It may be the prospect of a geographic move, a job change, relationship endning or transformation, acquiring of a new pet or some other shift that is playing on your mind.  Should you or not? Consider 5 insights for smoother transitions:

1. Take advantage of a change of scenery

If you contemplate change in some area of your life yet still hesitate taking action, stepping out of your comfort zone temporarily can give you new perspective. A short trip away, house sit or farm stay may offer what you require to clear your head and see things from a more neutral or objective point of view.

2. Consider body issues.

Where your body is not functioning at optimum level, this invites exploring new approaches to sleep, hydration, regular exercise, possible fitness programs and nutrition. If ingestion, digestion or elimination raise issues, exploring possible intolerances could be beneficial. Changing diet, exploring the nature of body consumption could alos lead to positive effects.

3.  Address mindset.

When change is in the air, its important to have a mindset that is encouraging, supportive and reassuring. Change does not always happen as fast as part of you might like.  Patience is a virtue that comes through experiience. Every moment, your thoughts and feelings are directing every moment of your life.

4.  Meditate on it.

Meditation is about savouring joy in your life, finding blessings wherever you are.  Its about allowing yourself to remember what it is to be in this moment, to find peace and tranquility or feel centred amidst external change.

5. Engage in spiritual practices.

Many spiritual practices exist that promote clairity in other areas of life.  Dreamwork, soulwork, sound baths and alternative healing approaches can enable you to purify congested energy fields and truly see the light.

Do inner work, reap the benefits

Doing inner work on ourselves guides us to insights about the idea of God, the divine or sacred. The word is less important than the process of going iinward, feeling into what this is for yourself. What does it mean to grow personally? It implies you grow in maturity and awareness of issues you have inside of yourself: fears, desires, insecurities, needs, wants, self-consciousness, shame, embarassment, guilt, anger, resentment, the list goes on. These words refer to sample currents of energy unfolding within.
Consider the analogy of rocks creating disturbance or current in the flowing river. Simply removing individual obstacles to spirituality reveals the natural state of things. So why are we taught to make complicated what is simple? Obstacles we face are the roadmap to spiritual states of expanded consciousness. They are the pointers to a more peaceful existence, a completley new perception and vibrational sense of reality.
At the perfect moment, it dawns no recipe or technique exists to meet or get us to God or magically make us divine. Disturbances within invite us to see them as they are. This requires sheer honesty about what we are looking at and projecting into the external world. We have to be willing to see clearly. The path to liberation begins with our willingness to see the the nature of rocks which represent our own shadows.
We can evolve to look at ourselves objectively. This requires we rise above judement, complaint, self criticism. Changing our attitude about ourselves and what we see inwardly is a huge step to transforming our lives in ways that benefit Soul growth. To see the obstacles (garbage) within ourselves as they are is to reduce suffering around us. The bigger the obstacle we face, the more we reduce suffering.
Normally, those who are not awake are unaware of the nature of their thoughts and feelings and get lost in their emotions. They are unwilling to face truth, or take full responsibility for what they create. Rather than see what causes the disturbances in their lives, they may get stuck in survival mode, simply taking action the best they can to keep their head above water. IN order to get beyond this state, we must be willing to get out of the water, be the witness and see deeper into what is unfolding.

5 Tips to see life differently

It is common to feel restless in a particular situation, to desire change but to hesitate taking any action.  Watch what happens as you reflect on five tips to see life in a new light;

1) Notice your language- listen to yourself. Be aware if you use words like 'try, maybe, attempt' and others that express doubt.  Be aware of how you express anger and frustration.  Each word reinforcing negative emotions holds you back.

2) Change your attitude -allow yourself to find blessings in your current situation.  Start with one.  Identify opportunities for life lessons; patience, empathy, understanding, love.

3) Reinforce the positive - smile and laugh more.  Allow yourself to experience more joy in life, wherever you are.

4) Shift focus- rather than seeing your life from the ego perspective, shift to see things from a soulful point of view.  That is, recognize the bigger picture, how everything is to be appreciated.

5) Recognize everything is a mirror- be aware that how you respond to all you encounter is a reflection of how you feel about your true being. Imagine everything is an invitation to love equally and unconditionally.  See beyond the judgment of the conditioned ego.  Underneath the illusions, all is love expressing love.

You make this place

You make this place what it appears to be based on how you think and feel about it.  Do people you encounter seem to behave as monsters or angels?  Your attitude shapes your experience.

If you seek to conquer others, the universe points to opportunities for profound lessons. If you wish to control others, you know suffering.  As you recognize controlling behaviour does not serve you, other options are still open to you.  Notice love is the opposite of control.

If you are kind, compassionate and non-judgmental, you see goodness in the hearts of others and overlook what the mind would have you compare and judge. Notice they see in you what you see in them. The world is a mirror that reflects how you feel about yourself.

Let things be.  Flow with them.   Love people and things so much you are willing to let them go. Be happy, come what may.  State of mind and emotions fluctuate with conditions while being simply is. Unhinge the door the mind places in front of of the heart.  Love no matter what.

You are not what you think

Concepts arise in the mind.  The deepest part of being knows none of them can stick.  No belief or attitude lasts forever.  No attachment or detachment results in what you seek. Clarity and awareness know all effort is futile.  They exist regardless of what you think or do. To think the present comes from the past is merely a hallucination.  A memory is always an echo of now.  Nothing is happening to you but rather through the energy you perceive as you.  The dream layers peel themselves back and blow away in the wind.  What remains of the dream remains to be seen as it is.  Be the dream.

"But the self-controlled man, moving among objects, with his senses under restraint, and free from both attraction and repulsion, attains peace." -Swami Chinmayananda
