Dream Analysis of the Week- Death of what matters

Dream:

I have had series of dreams about death, dying, losing pets and what matters to me. It leave me feeling heavy, sad. I often wake up scared and vigilent.

Insight:

What matters to you at one stage of life will differ from other stages. Prioriities change and we evolve as beings.  Death dream themes can be disturbing and confusing. Rest assured, the theme of death is not literal. Its not a premonition you'll leave your body soon. These dreams refer to parts of you undergoing a symbolic death. Its about resistance to letting go of what no longer serves your soul growth.

What in your life is slowly slipping away? Is it your anger or your lust? Is it a lifestyle or persona you present which feels false or incongruent you grow more authentic? Maybe you are ready to give up on a dream of being a musician or fighter pilot? Maybe you are ready to leave a public role you held for years in order to pursue your dream of running a horse farm. Already moving beyond the familliar version of you, fear what's next? Death could be symbolized by peer rejection, acting "out of character" or not living up to expectations. As we move from a mindset of being a follower to being a leader or our own assertive self, it may be we are shifting percspectives or personas to uncover more of what is real and possible for us now.

When something in us dies, we go through a natural grieving process. To feel sad or miserable is a stage in letting go. How bad we feel is proportional to how attached we have been to an idea, person or situation.  In essence, you are saying good-bye to something you have thought about, known or experienced, moving into a new life or vibrational phase. It may even be a trauma related to something scary that happened ages ago, like falling off a bike, keeps you from riding bikes. To let go of fear allows you to find new confidence.

Come what may, if you are bored, some life situation you have outgrown hinders your soul growth. Death from boredom can be a good thing as you may be detaching from what no longer serves you. If it is someone who is killing you (in the dream), then you may be in conflict about letting go of a relationship or your idea of one that is not happening as you envision. Your narcissistic need for adoration, heavy attention or vision of an ideal romance could be killing your hope for real intimacy. Pay attention on where your mind is and bring it back to the present to recoginze how you feel where you are.

Beyond all the above, the purpose of human existence is to learn to let go of the three great distrations of body, mind and emotions in order to revert to the source of true nature.  Turns out, true fulfillment only arises as we work though our fears and shadows, make them conscious and discover freedom beyond it.  The highest path is learning through our daily life to gradually let go of what is distracting our consciousness from innate peace and acceptance. What matters to ego, to body, mind is what triggers emotions and keeps us clinging to the unreal.

Dream Analysis of the Week- Face the Music

Dream:

I dreamed that something was following me and yet also avoiding me.  I could see it in the eyes of a colleague who did not return my calls. I felt it in a man who did not wish to speak with me as he turned away and drove off in a truck that grew wings and flew.  I could sense it as I read newspaper headlines about local real estate developpers. Angry local women were protesting a court outcome.  I sensed the same thing vying for my attention everytime I picked up my phone to check email or social media.  It was like the itch that seemed to move to a different place in my body if I made a move to scratch it. Even when I resisted scratching, the sensation would be evoked by the external.  It was harder to tune in and feel this music in the sun.

Insight:

For some people, letting go is an idea, something very difficult to do.  We become very good at ignoring our gut. The ultimate goal is natural awareness.  At some point, you do not know how not to be aware. That is when everything is meditation. Awareness is all that is. At that stage, there is no period of starting and stopping meditation. Yet, in the beginning, steps of guidance, focused attention, going to a place at a particular time, control, are required to shift into, help us recall this state. An analogy can be seen as honesty and dishonesty play out in our own life experience. This is our process of shifting out of ego fear and into love.

Dreams that echo inner conflict point to the roots of unrecognized or unexplained anger, resentments or guilt. Part of you wants to see things for what they are in the present moment, accept and integrate what bothers you, yet fear, conditioning keep you in denial.  The only way to accept others is to fully accept ourselves first, including decoding our shadow.  What we think we reject in others often simply reflects what we judge or reject about ourselves.  Whatever you think you cannot accept, choose to avoid or "protest" about is actually inside you. Headlines echo the unconscious issues that cry out for your acceptance and conscious validation.

Dreams speak to us in a language of metaphors, symbols, images, and archetypes. These patterns we all recognize instinctively, as part of the collective mind. An example would be the idea of a good mother or an angel. Whether or not we had a good mother or ever saw an angel, we share common understanding that the mother of compassion who loves unconditionally and protects wholeheartedly does exist. This is an archetype. Although we all dream about different things, many patterns are universal. Dream images and events are not literal, but have archetypal resonance. Each dream aspect is unique to the dreamer but connects to the collective unconscious. It is here where insight and history of the universe is stored. We often access it during dreams.

The wings make reference to spiriituality. Humans are spiritual beings. We are comprised of both essence and matter. We take form as flesh and bone that encapsulates our purest self—the soul, our most authentic being. This part of us feels deep love and spontaneous joy. It is our elemental self lodged in trust and understanding. We were born into the world in this perfect and ethereal form and from that moment our humanness began to grow. As soon as we experienced pain, loss, or fear we began to develop the counterpart to the soul—our shadow. Our shadow consists of the qualities we repress, deny, or dislike in ourselves. It is the dark side of our personality. The shadow grows as we experience suffering and hardship in our human form. Each one of us is a hybrid blend of shadow and soul. We are both dark and light. Filled with fear and love. Brimming with confidence and saddled by doubt. We are a balance of what is seen and unseen.

In a woman, the soul is represented as masculine and the shadow is represented as feminine. The opposite is true for men whose soul is shown through a captivating, beautiful, and intriguing woman and whose shadow is portrayed as an ugly, destructive, violent or somehow undesirable man. When you are feeling connected, spiritual, your soul shows itself in. If it makes an appearance and leaves, this suggests you are distracted by or weighed down by your shadow. When we are overwrought with feelings of anger or fear, the shadow figure may dominate the dream space.  The multiple people living inside you are called personas.

Dream Analysis of the Week- Wounded Healer

"Wounded Healer" Painting by Tino Rodriguez

Dream: I saw big transparent pages of a holographic book, and imagined a large, blank canvas. I focused the power of conscious thought to open the book. In this version of reality, a woman had hemmaroids (piles) and was clearly distracted from attempts to sleep in a bed. She itched her butt furiously, asked herself aloud if it might be worms? She went downstairs, ate something in the kitchen then applied apple cider vinegar with q-tip to the sensitive area.  Just as the discomfort would fade, it would come back. She then realized her head was itchy and wondered if she had nits. As she allowed herself to laugh loudly and spontaneously at the disturbances rather than get annoyed, the itches went away. She was able to fall asleep, exit her body in an OBE and the page turned.  In another version of reality, a woman was getting a sri yantra tattoo on her lower back and a stellated dodecahedron on the back of her neck.  Her eyes were closed. When the tattoos were completed, a multidimensional version of each levitated above her, rotated quickly and re-integrated into her body which illuminated in light.  After, another book page turned. In the third version of reality, the woman is sitting beside a crackling fire and surrounded by animals, communicating to each one though the heart. She plays a drum and sings and engages in euphoric dance under the light of the moon. As the fire burns out, the page of the book turns to a blank page.  It remains open.

Insights

An itch, as a dream symbol, echoes something is bothering you that you cannot escape or get out of your mind.  It may to refer to conscious or unconscious attachment to something that will not go away. You may know its not good for you yet hesitate or resist letting go. The dream is a warning let go or purify the mind.

Sacred geometry in dreams echoes ancient symbolism. It is known to guide humans toward inner completion,  enlightenment or self-realisation.  Specific geometric shapes in our dreams may emerge during periods in our lives when we have gone off the beaten path on our life’s journey, only to guide us back on track. The Creator metaphorically uses these shapes in hopes we become closer with the divine energy that will lead us toward the best course at this stage in our lives.  These shapes are found throughout the Universe. Sacred geometric objects exist in our everyday life – patterns that can be broken-down into a language of math that rules our visible and invisible world.

Three versions of dream reality shared echo a trilogy.  What happens for you in threes? Is this a good omen?  Turning pages is like moving through chapters of change and transformation in your life. Meditate on what you resist, what you let go and what you allow to emerge to replace old or outgrown versions of you. This is a healing process, a process of emergence of a shaman regrounding and reconnecting with true divine nature.

in dreams, animals often represent emotions, expression and the response of your more 'wild,' uncivilized, yet natural self. This part of your nature can be in conflict with the inner critic that urges you toward conformity.  The drum symbolizes the heartbeat of the spirit, the leader of the people.  Its vibrations connect people to each other and to every living thing, backward and forward and in all directions in time, and out into the universe.

Dream Analysis of the Week- Terraced garden

Dream:

The dream took place on a terraced farm cut into seven levels alongside mountains.  A man stood next to an old fashioned (heritage) Australian Queenslander house. Red dusty sand was blowing around him. He, the dry land and house seemed somehow out-of-place in the surrounding terraced farm. He looked up, remarked he could not see beyond clouds.

At the next step down was the lady who was tending to a lush area of green plants at mid-calf level.  Although the man looked for someone with a hand above his brow to shade the sun, he did not see the woman. She reached into her pocket, took out a credit card and asked her daughter from the next level down to step up, go to local shop to get some seeds.  The daughter smiled, said "I don't need the card." Lady shrugged, "okay" and accidentally dropped card in the water where is could not be found.

Stepping back, the lady looked up, saw 3 levels of floating gardens were growing different crops above the clouds. The rice was lush and green. Alternating crops included flowers in vibrant colours and vegetables growing in swirls above and below levitating soil.

Insight:

Mountains represent challenges, goals, milestones and things to work toward.  Terrace farming prevents soil erosion and contributes to soil conservation and keeps crops well-watered. Nowadays, the method allows growing versatile crops, and its management is more comfortable with online agricultural software. Notice the man is unable to communicate with the woman. This points to possible issues being seen and heard as you are.  Stepping away from what you outgrow may help you nourish your spirit and grow in new ways.seeing yourself working on a unknown farm represents new beginnings on the horizon and possibilities going forward.

On another level, the HUman is like a 7-story house.  Each level is represented by the chakras which are cosmic doorways to different states and stages of consciousness. Notice humans generally live and die on only one floor.  The conscious mind is the floor on which we live. Directly below is the underground basement or unconscious.  Below that is the third floor or collective unconscious.  Still lower, the fourth floor, is the cosmic unconscious.  Above the floor on which we live is the super-conscious mind.  Above that is the floor of the collective conscious. Above that, is the cosmic consciousness.  From where we are then, there exist three floors above and also below.  If we only focus on where we are, we miss the bigger picture.

Self-realisation is about becoming familliar with the entire arragement of 7 levels and taking it further to experience each one directly. Its not about staying up above the clouds in the higher levels or getting bogged down at the lower levels. Nothing can remain unfamilliar or unknown. No stone can be left unturned in this process.  Each level has its own initiations. The reason is that one cannot be one's own master so long as one is a slave to (fearful of) the unknown. Reflect on the number 7 and its significance in your life- i.e. colours of the rainbow, # dwarves & traits in "Snow White", days of the week, energy fields, ect.  Awakening is about growing more spiritually-inclined, more apt to go inward, see from different points of view. Its natural to explore more levels of one's inner house, to shed light on shadows and expand into more of true nature.

The dream also invites the dreamer to review his own perception of current needs, pull out or let go of what is obsolete or outgrown or overgrown.  This is a message about listening to spiritual (inner) guidance rather than material conditioning. Different kinds of abundance present.  Meditate on abundance, wealth, what you sow.

We offer Dream Consultations that explore the significance of single and multiple dreams. We also offer an Astral, Lucid & Dream Yoga Course.  Contact us for details.

Dream Analysis of the Week- Sold the Teeth

Dream:

It seemed my dream referred to a past life. I lived in Egypt, and wore tattered cotton clothes in faded colours. From my window, I saw sand blowing and pyramids in the distance. I struggled to survive. I even sold my teeth for money.  When awake, I touched my teeth to see if they were there.

Insight:

To say, "I had a dream..." is very deep.  How do you know?  The answer is simple.  The 'you' who looks through your eyes and sees the outer world is experiencing events occurring in the dream.  Only one conscious being exists.  You are either experiencing the dream world or the waking world.  Note you intuitively use the word "I" when describing the dream events and also when waking up. This reinforces they are one in the same.

We can explore a few symbols that stand out:

Teeth- Teeth are physically used to bite, tear, chew, and gnaw. In this way, teeth symbolize power. So the loss of dream teeth (or removal on purpose) may refer to powerlessness, giving away power or feeling loss of power or influence in waking life. At the moment you recall this dream, you may experience feelings of inferiority and a lack of self-confidence in some life situation or relationship.  Yet, we are also reminded that each time we lose something, we are gaining something in the process.  It is our focus and level of consciousness that determines how we respond.  ON a literal level, losing teeth implies that you are growing out of one phase (or have outgrown where you are). This is about grounding a new level of consciousness in your body. Embrace change!

In addition, as another way to reframe loss of teeth or what they may be used for: there is a warrior legend about a being who was fighting a God and won, emerged from the ocean wearing a shark tooth. This is why many surfers and divers like to wear this magic piece of jewellery-it symbolizes protection and safety.  When one wears jewellery or a necklace with teeth of one's ancestors or from the mouths of enemies, each tooth is like an embodiement of the deceased, whose power & energy was transferred to the wearer.

Sand- you may associate sleep with the passage of time, impermanence and sleep (or unconscious behaviour). Ask yourself where in your life could you be living with a sense of impatience, what triggers a sense of timelessness, feels like you do not have enough time, how to make the most of the time you are given? You may feel like you have blown into your circumstances or like restlessness and discomfort are out of your control.  What if you refelct on the soruce of the wind and nature of direction in new ways?

Pyramid- a structure with multiple facits and dimensions. It can appear to represent your 'internal architecture', a geometric reminder there is far more to you beneath the surface. You may also sense this 3-D shapes echoes the trinity- mind, body spirit. The pyramid in a dream can embody transformation, interdimensional tral, parallel doorways, that something on the horizon or well-underway. Pharoahs and important people were buried  within or under them as a passage to the "Otherworld" as it is believed something about pyramids holds the key or acts as a path to a higher level of existence. Certainly, further spiritual aspects present, inviting to be explored.

Reference to money is an invitation to ponder your relationship with scarcity and abundance.  Its opportunity to count your blessings, practice appreciation and tune into reasons for peace and contentment often overlooked.

We offer in-depth Dream Consultations for single or multiple dreams, offer dream services as part of coaching & spiritual psychotherapy.  We also offer a Astral, Lucid & Dream Yoga Course.  Contact us for details.
